The church is similar to many but the ancient crypt well before AD1000 is exceptional. Full of atmosphere. Ancient was paintings. Used for weddings and baptisms etc. I used to go often with my wife when she was dying to light candles. And now I go on my own to light candles for her.

Peaceful abbey with exquisite church
Jun 2017 • Couples
The abbey is situated beneath a wooded mountain and surrounded by ,fields - very peaceful. The older part of this church, particularly the crypt, is quite exquisite, but the new addition seems incongrous and does not fit comfortably. There are no signs left of the old Cistercian abbey, the buildings of which have been converted into apartemts and offices.

Feels living and loved
Aug 2014 • Family
Very pleasantly located, beautiful Romanesque abbey.
The old part, downstairs is full of stone columns, and feels reminiscent of an unpainted Cordoba.
The main part of the abbey upstairs is very simple with some worn frescoes, the later addition feels very Victorian.
