Vic is located 69 km from Barcelona and 60 km from Girona. It's position has made it one of the most important towns in central Catalonia. It is said to be famous for its sausages and other pork derivatives. A walk through the enchanting old...More

There is nothing wrong with Vic city itself except for it is really not worth of the time to drive here. There were very few sites to see, and it did not feel safe for a town of this size. Suspicious people were all over...More

Vic surprised as a nice stop with the square and market being a highlight. Went there on a Saturday, so market was on and it seems like they sell everything and some things (like clothes) way to cheap. But easy to park nearby and some...More

Interesting sand fillled plaza, with arcades that have to be the height to accomodate a rider on horseback..

It is a beautiful square worth a visit if you spend a few days in Catalunya. The city's location is equally marvelllous.

Loved the local colour, the crowds & stalls; a bit like the square in Marrakech but without the same pot pourri of smells, vibrant colours, beggars, snakes, etc. In other words the usual Spanish market. Impossible to view the square itself or the surrounding/ encompassing...More

And very much the focus point of this very Catalan rural town. Rather featureless when it is empty, but it rarely is, with a host of local events going on throughout the year. An impressive array of tall buildings on all four sides of just...More

The hotel provided us with the city walking guide and the Placa Major was part of that route. It was a really interesting tour and worth undertaking!

The Major Square in a Catalan Village was the place around all the activity was done. Today, the Plaça Major in Vic still unique place, with a weekly market, with wonderful place around and nearby, with many activities year round.

Medieval Market was on so the usual stalls were supplemented with these special ones. Busy but we left about 1.30 before the real crowds descended. Parked right in the middle in the underground parkin.

It's a great square, very big. We went at night and it was shocking for me, because it's very wide and surrounded by a mysterious mist. It's historical also. If you are over there, it deserves a visit.
