We drove our car right up to the entrance in the evening and found parking right there, so I recommend going later if possible to avoid the crowds. Rode the elevator up to the main level of the castle. This castle is large with 2 distinct sections to visit. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, which we liked,... More

Came here for a wander of an evening, was fun, took the lift as couldn't face the steep walk. Views were excellent and the cafes were good value, overall a good few hours entertainment for all the family.

great panorama of the city. if you come in the evening, you can catch fantastic sunset. But be ready that there could be a bit windy.

If you travel to Alicante, you can't miss this place: Nice and unique overview of the city, a lot of history and a well preserved place. Nice walk and well communicated with the city

I'm from Scotland and this castle was better than most castles Iv been to in Scotland. If you don't enjoy hiking then take a taxi to the top. The castle grounds were massive and clean with loads to see. We seen plenty of scenery and stunning 360 degree views of Alicante and took some amazing pictures. Theres a restaurant, café... More

Found the lift entrance just off the main promenade [ look out for the white footbridge across the main road ] and quickly arrived at the top. Superb views and plenty of history to absorb. Lovely cafe for some refreshments before the walk down back into town. Great value and def 100% recommended

During a 5 day visit I went to the castle twice. I would highly recommend to walk up along the west wall walk. Certain parts of the walk have very high steps, so if you are in a poor condition or the weather is very warm there is also an option of taking the elevator up. However if you are... More
