About
Founded in 2008 by British expats Sue and Rod Weeding, our non-profit rescue centre saves neglected, abused and abandoned horses, ponies and donkeys across the Alicante region of Spain. We are open to the public every day from 12 pm to 2 pm (booking required), for a tour in our stables and fields, home to 120 rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. Hear the incredible survival stories of some of our most famous horses – including beautiful Bronson, who survived being beaten with a hammer and Luceiro, who lost an eye but remains one of our most majestic and spirited horses.

A special day out not to be missed
Sep 2020 • Friends
This is a great day out for young and old the Easy Horse Care Rescue Centre used to do free tours the first Sunday of the month. But since Covid you can book a private tour any day of the week it's €10.00 for an adult and €5.00 for children it's well worth the money as you get to meet the 122 horses, ponies and donkeys and hear some of their stories. There are also the beautiful peacocks, chickens, Isadora the pot bellied pig and gorgeous Ruppert the pig to see. The private tour allows you a more personable view of the animals and you still have the opportunity to buy drinks and snacks from the snack bar. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are anywhere near Rojales it really is a very special place.

Lovely day out while helping a great Charity
Jan 2020
Me and my sister Jen went on the first open day of 2020, they are held the first Sunday of every month. The centre is down a small camino road with not a lot of parking but you can always leave your car in Rojales and walk its only about a mile away and a lovely walk through the orange groves. The rescue centre is a delight and a little bit run down but this is to be expected with all the work they are doing as it's not cheap caring for over 100 horses and donkeys. The tours are free and there was around 30 people on each tour. All the workers are volunteers so some of the service is a bit hap hazard but this just adds to the charm of your visit. The tour guide was very informative and all the horses had a sad story to tell but now they are in a safe place. You can have your lunch in the cafe there are vegan and vegetarian choices. I had the jacket potato with vegan bolognese topping and my sister had chips with baked beans both were very nice. We will definitely go back.

Visit to the Horse Care Centre
Aug 2019
The Horse Care Centre is a great place to visit to see the wonderful work carried out in treating and restoring to health the horses and ponies that have been so badly treated by their previous owners.

It is especially interesting to children, some of whom have never been as close to horses as they can get at this place.

To see the pictures of the previous state of these animals and the appalling conditions that they were kept in and to be able to compare them with their present state, is very emotional and creates a sense of admiration for the dedication of their present carers.

Concerning
Nov 2019 • Family
Easy to find. Busy so arrive early as parking is a nightmare! A rescue centre. They must be praised for taking all these animals in, but far more than they can handle in my opinion. Funds are clearly diminishing and conditions not amazing from what I could see and the flies, well I guess is to be expected but by the thousands! There were far too many people on the tour and no one could hear the lady unless you were stood in front of her most people just wandered off on their own. Having two small children after a good 15 mins of wandering past the horses, we were told, be carful some of the fences are electric! Wow! Is this really a safe place to allow visitors?! Never will we return. Shame as this place needs all the funds it can raise

Don't go
Oct 2019 • Family
We went. Here 3 adults and 2 kids
They apologised they didn't have enough people to take the tours. The first tour went at 2pm full of flies obviously. Part time school teacher kept us in heat and flies telling us horses stories that we had read on the web and telling us not to touch the horses. Went in first tour which was backed up so we went to see a horse that was in its stall not cordenef off with 3 adults and 2 children. She shouted clearly over tannoy that we should not touch the horse and that she had clearly told us this before! Sorry but I'm 60 not 6 not the way to speak to me in front of my husband and my family!! I am fully aware of horses behaviour and can see the signs. Then we went to an alleyway where donkeys and asses were roaming free where my granddaughter was!!! What a joke!! Slagging us off for not joining the tour cos the horses would bite but letting my 3 year old granddaughter move where donkeys/asses were untethered!! Get real Mrs part time teacher see you later you won't see us again!!

Hi Lyn, we're so sorry you had such a bad time at the rescue centre. Unfortunately, the hot weather in Spain and flies around horses at this time of the year are something we cannot control. We always advise our visitors to have water and sunscreen with them. Jett, the horse you're talking about is unpredictable and can bite, that's why we ask people to stay away from him for their own safety. Otherwise, the vast majority of our 120 horses, donkeys and ponies can be touched and are happy to get cuddles from our visitors! Keep in mind that all our guides are volunteers and passionate people who work hard to make these free open days possible. We just ask visitors to follow basic rules. :)

Admirable work done by dedicated volunteers, relying on visits and donations to keep making a difference to horses in need. Open first sunday of the month from 1pm. Cafe serving tea and cakes as well as lunches.

Well worth a visit
Jun 2019 • Family
The guide was passionate about the work carried out at the centre and very informative. Some of the stories about the horses are quite upsetting but it is clear that the owners and volunteers are dedicated to ensuring that the horses will never suffer again. Great work by the team. Bronson was my favourite and the escaping donkeys were amusing too.

These immigrant brits deserve a medal for what they have done in the field of 'horsepitality' (sorry). I am more of a doggy person, and walk dogs for the local rescue centre at Dolores SAT, and have adopted one of their little rescue chums, but have had several horsy mates over the years, and know fellow dog walkers who also help Easy Horse
