The scenery in this beautiful park was outstanding! It was great to get out of the city. Upon arriving, we parked our car in the lot, and went to the visitor center where we asked for a map. The lady working there was very knowledgeable and helpful, and she provided us a map of the trails and her recommendation. We... More

This is a very nice and unique protected natural area where many local bird species can be easily spotted. Wooden walkways make it very easy to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Terrain is flat in general, so it can be visited by kids and people with reduced mobility.

I've been to a couple of other national Parks in Spain and it has always been necessary to make some sort of reservation. I hadn't made any pre - preparation to visit Daimiel but, as I was there, I thought I may as well take a look. I supposewd I would be able to see over a fence or something... More

In the dry land of La Mancha is this great natural park with a lot of water and paradise for birds. Even on a hot day you will be able to relax close to water and see a totally different Castilla La Mancha. If you walk quietly and wait silently for couple of minutes you will be surrounded by dozen... More

Three trails leading from the visitor centre take the visitor into the heart of this wetland. Boarded and railed walkways through the pools make it very easy to get remarkably close to the wildlife, even with several coach-loads of largely uninterested school children racketing around the place on (seemingly) most days. Since our last visit in 2011 a shop has... More

As avid birdwatchers this has been one of the top places to visit on our trips south each year. We managed to fit it in this time and, how disappointed we were. It is a beautiful wetland but, few hides, distant views of birds and, hoards of visitors walking the area with no interest in the bird life or respect... More

The wetland is a little gem situated around 30 minutes drive from Daimiel. If you're interested in birds, dragonflies and reptiles this is the place for you. There is ample parking and a little visitor centre which gives an overview of the park and which species to find. A series of boardwalks allows you to explore the large lake and... More

Don't get me wrong, I loved the view but I wasn't utterly amazed by it and there were no birds to see :/

Because of excessive water extraction by local farmers this wetland almost ceased to exist a few years back; there was even underground combustion of the peat! The authorities are now transferring water from elsewhere to maintain reasonable water levels, at least during the springtime. I visited on two weekdays and the park is large enough to find peaceful areas away... More
