Live the adventure of the coffee tour in San Juan La Laguna. A short one kilometer walk that lasts approximately an hour and a half that will allow you to get to know the full cycle of organic coffee production, from harvest to coffee cup. The tour takes place in the plantations and in the processing facilities and also includes your choice of a fine organic coffee cup.

My wife and I had the short tour of La Voz Coffee Cooperative yesterday. Our guide, Armando, did a great job of describing the process of coffee harvesting, fermentation, drying and answered all our questions. Our tour was in Spanish, I’m not sure if they do tours in English.

Our tour guide was the son of one of the founders of the cooperative and very knowledgeable. We walked through the fields and through the facilities for processing the coffee. The cooperative was actively working during out visit--farmers were delivering their sacks of beans for weighing and women were processing the dried product as we walked through. Our guide spoke Spanish and English and provided a lot of important and interesting context about land/agriculture rights in Guatemalan history and politics. A well managed cooperative that's run by the people for their own profit is a truly unique an wonderful thing to see. Cooperativa La Voz is very large and the fields have a lovely view of the surrounding volcanos. The tour was well over an hour but the path was pretty flat, wide, and easy to walk.

We came with a large group and enjoyed a tour around La Voz. The tour guide was very knowledge and it was amazing to see how the coffee we drink everyday was made. We ended the tour with a great cup of coffee- I was sure to get more beans to bring back to my family at home. 10/10 would recommend for any coffee lovers.
