Athen trek to the ruins is nit physically demanding but it is so relaxing and the atmosphere is so tranquil that it is definitely worth it. Thanks to a great guide from Killawasi lodge we got some interesting facts and got a good insight of past and current way of living in the area.

After the short trek, we made it to the ruins and it was pretty cool. Some houses were untouched and some were refurbished. Its about the ONLY thing to do while at colca lodge. I would recommend so you don't waste away your time at the lodge.

My boyfriend and made a trek to these ruins with a guide provided by the Kilawasi Lodge, as we were staying there. I would recommend visiting. It is well worth the s / 5 per person. The signs explaining the site are in Spanish.

We were looking for some good trail descriptions/directions from Yanque to the ruins and the thermal baths. Couldn't find them, so here are our notes for the next traveler/hiker; we found the first path on Google maps. Take Avenue San Antonio from the main plaza toward the river. After about .2 km, bear right to stay on the main road.... More

We loved walking through this very well kept archaeological site. Some of the buildings are beautifully renovated. Highly recommended!

You can walk there from Colca Lodge. It is uphill all the way so take your time and bring water. Quite remote ruins, worth visiting.
