Great little stop. We just parked and walked around the castle and then took the trails on both sides of the castle to see the windmills. The fog setting on the windmills were kind of magical.

The Castle still stands after all these years.
There are parts of the Castle which they have renovated to show what it looked like.
There is also a lot of steps to climb so be careful. There are lots of information boards in English so you can understand.
When you walk to the top of the Windmills you get a great view of the Castle.
The cost is 5.50 euro to see the Castle and Windmills. You can walk from the town around 20-30 minutes up hill or you can drive up there also.

Very interesting and only E5 for the castle and one of the two viewable windmills.
The castle was largely destroyed by Napoleon’s forces in the early 1800’s you will read, so what you see is in large part reconstructed, but it is worth a visit in conjunction with the adjacent windmills if only for the views and photo opportunities offered. We spent about 15 - 20!minutes following the paths around the interior of the castle and in that time saw everything there was to see.
Washrooms are conveniently located outside the castle with some more (more basic) inside the castle itself.

I paid a taxi driver one hundred euros to drive us here from Toledo. The site consists of an interesting crusader castle (in part reconstructed) and 13 reconstructed windmills each, I believe, with the name of a character from the book of Don Quijote. The place is a typical tourist trap but the views of the Central plateau are amazing with thousands of olive trees to supply the factories of olive oil. Not worth the taxi fare but if you are driving in the area then the castle and the views justify a detour but NOT the mills.

The medieval castle of the knights hospitallier was badly damaged during the napoleonic wars and therefore most of what you see is reconstruction. It’s well done but the atmosphere has sadly gone. Still worth a visit if you’re in the area.

after the windmills it was already very late and had just an hour to explore the castle.
there is no info or audio guide so had to rush the rooms. but it preserved in very fine condition and view from many of the castle spots is beautiful

Impressive looking fort from the outside. Sorry to report it was closed mid-day during our weekday visit. We would have probably rated it higher if it had been open.
The onsite toilets needed cleaning.

Superb castle with the added bonus of seeing the windmills up close. So close you can climb to the top of the first one you come across. It houses the tourist information office and for less than 5€ you can climb to the top to view the windmill mechanism and an informative video plus with the same ticket visit the castle.

Quite well preserved. Easy to get around. Not so good if you have mobility issues. Lovely view of the surrounding area.
