Interesting castle to explore, not good for those who can't manage large steps. Great place to photograph the windmills from the top.

I stopped by Consuegra to visit the famous Quijote windmills, and found this wonderful 12th century Templar Castle as a bonus to the visit. If you've stopped to check out the windmills, it's definitely worth doing a quick visit to the castle as well. Perched...More

There's a breathtaking view at the top of the hill and the castle is history incarnate. Don't miss the windmills.

Climb up the castle worth visiting in August and attend the Christians and Moros fiesta. Real cool and breathtaking of the village, surroundings and wind mills. Good for the family with children to run free!

The castle and the 12 windmills are absolutely stunning. They are a must see if you are in the area. You can see for miles from the top

Over the course of my time living in Spain, this (and the windmills) were always on the short list of places to visit. It is a nice day trip from Madrid. Everyone found the castille interesting and loved that it is in the process of...More

The view is good. But the public facility is really horrible, especially the restroom. The only restroom is beside the entrance of the castle, one for women and one for men. Interestingly, the locker for women’s room is broken, but the men‘s is good. Apparently,...More

The Castillo is next to and an integral part of a visit to the Windmills. You don't *have* to go there, but if you are in the area, why not? It's being progressively restored, and I can imagine that when it's eventually finished it will...More
