The gleaming buildings of the inner area of the palace moat always impress. Also note the gems like the revamped Tokyo Station building and The Central Post Office called Kitte. Many of the skyscrapers are linked by underpasses with a treasure trove of boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

I went to Tokyo on business in May and September 2016. Marunouchi is a business district located near Tokyo Station and several of my business meetings were in Marunouchi. Marunouchi also has a lot of stores and restaurants. The twin towers of the Marunouchi Building and Shin Marunouchi Building are the start of Marunouchi. I would begin here. Both buildings... More

I had the fortune of staying at the Shangri-La in this area and went for extensive walks. The area is wonderful for restaurants, totally safe to walk around and the station in this area is a wonderful find of shops and gourmet grocery stores which I explored with great glee!

There are many popular shops and restaurants in Marunouhi but for those not interested in spending moey, also quite a few things can be found just walking around this area, historic buildings such as Tokyo Station, Wadakura Bridge, as well as parks around Imperial Palace

This is the place to shop if you are looking for anything for kids with a logo or theme from Japan's famous characters. The prices are not cheap and gifts are more for younger kids. There are many shops, each for a special theme.

between Ginza, Yurakucho, and The Imperial Palace Marunouchi is a peaceful haven in the middle of hyper Tokyo. With the recent development of the area it now has some of the best shopping, hotels, and restaurants in Tokyo. A great place to take a break from the hectic surroundings.

It used to be just a business area but the many buildings mostly occupied by Mitsubishi companies have changed their ground floors to up market shops and some good restaurants.. The streets have been done with paving and the area is tree-lined. There is much to see in this area from the very busy Tokyo station, Tokyo Forum to the... More

Choose from standing sashimi bar to fancy italian restaurant. There are many izakayas (gastropubs) around this area and they're usually crowded with locals. But most places have an English menu if you ask for it. Great place to savour local pub foods.

The buildings are neat from the outside and inside. Each building although similar, had a completely different vibe on the inside. Our favorites were the Marunouchi, the Shin Marunouchi, and Kitte. Each building has somthing unique to offer. Be sure to check out the terrace in the Shin Marunouchi and the rooftop garden in Kitte. The brick Marunouchi building has... More
