The park itself is gorgeous, especially on the West Moat, Chidorigafuchi, during the cherry blossom season soon to come, when it is bumper-to-bumper with strollers. The park is also the location of the Budookan, built for the 1964 Olympics and where I was fortunate to view the World Kendo championships, held only 3 times in Tokyo and at which Japanese... More

Cozy park with trails throughout the whole forest, perfect for a stroll. Also has a huge open area where you can picnic or just relax on the grass. Lots of interesting plants, animals (including turtles, lizards and ducks!) and a great place for relaxing, with clean toilets nearby (Visited: June 2015)

From the north entrance, I went up the big wide stairs to where the Park is on a higher ground, and was a little "turned off" right there by the wild grass & shrubs on those stairs; and once up there, saw the park "crowded" in a sense that the trees were kind of "closely spaced", giving the place an... really nothing to see here in February maybe if you go in the summer it will look good, but in February it is really not worth a visit at all. it's just a big pond with some greenery around. and you have to pay to enter

It is cherry blossom season many people are out on hanami pilgrimage. This park has some attractions, is spotless, manicured to the best and sprawling. You can be on your own and not be disturbed at all. Enjoy the bloom, birds and water all around.

If you can be in Tokyo from the last week of March to the first week of April, there are no reason why not to visit KITANOMARU park is close to imperial palace. You can feel Japanese spring with watching fully blooming cherry blossom by walk through the park. もし、3月の最終週から4月の最初週に東京にいられるのであれば、皇居近くの北の丸公園に行ってみましょう。公園を散歩することで満開の桜を見ながら日本の春を感じられるでしょう。

This park is at walking distance from the Tokyo War Museum and shrine. Spotlessly clean, green and with beautiful trees is the right place to kill your time or spend a day relaxing. It has toilets, restaurants, arena, sitting benches and parking. That day there was a military parade and display which was sheer pleasure to watch and attend. Small... More

Staying in Yotsuya / Iidabashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this day, and there are long-standing restaurants with geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
