We read all the bad reviews on here before going for the tour which went across the rainbow bridge. Even though this was my third time in Tokyo I still found it a great way to spend a short amount of time to get a glimpse of areas. Given how big Tokyo is you can't expect to see everything so... I have taken hop on hop off in many cities around the world. This is the first time where the top seats were the onlye seats on the bus. You cannot go downstairs to sit in the covered area. We were there the first of April - this route was along the water front, over the Rainbow Bridge. There are... More

i did this bus tour yesterday on a Monday. The English commentary was audible and nowhere near as bad as some reviews had led me to believe. I was reluctant to do as the general reviews had been so negative, I have done these buses all over the world and this is not the worst ( New York -traffic and... More

Y3500 (£24.00GBP) for a 24 hour city tour based on 2 different bus routes plus a third, the same as the second with a few additions. Also a non hop on/off at a cheaper price. English headphones and quite interesting. A good way to get an overview of the city at a reasonable price. The only difficulty is the frequency... More

Tips: 1. Board the bus at the main station (where all 3 lines meet). Be as much as 30 minutes early, to make sure you will fit on the next bus. 2. Show up for the first bus in the morning. 3. Your hotel may have flyers with an outdated schedule. Since sometimes there is a time gap of 90... More

A complete waste of money, use the local rail. Bus stops have limited signage so good luck finding them. They need to spend the time and money to fix the map up for tourists as after all this is who it caters for. 24hour ticket price is 3500 yen adult price. The staff are friendly.

They have two lines and we rode them both. Does offer a good simple look around the downtown area. Had to take a metro to get there since we were staying in Ikebukuro. Typical recorded messages during tour that you listen to with their provided ear phones. Didn't choose to get off, choosing rather to just stay on and do... More

Completely over sold, not standing so when they're overbooked there's no bus for you. We bought our tickets an hour in advance, then queued to get on only to have them sell 13 tickets at the door in front of us. Meaning the bus was sold out and we couldn't get on. Appalling service don't waste your money and time... More

Please do not do the mistake and book the night bus tour for 2100 Yen pp! It takes you on a 30 minutes trip to the shopping mall Aqua City. At Aqua City you are thrown off the bus to spend one hour in the mall. After one hour the bus takes you directly back to the starting point, hereby... More

We have used Hop on Hop off tours in many countries over the years and always find they are a great way to see the sights. Sadly, the sky tour in Tokyo was a huge disappointment - firstly you need to book in advance - you can't rock up and hop on at all. We arrived and we told we... More

Staying in Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's also a downtown area with shops that were founded over a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza. It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels, world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular with anyone looking for a night out.
