The best thing you can get during December around Japan is that you can see illumination all over Japan. This one at caretta is so pretty , they will start a light show every night for about 10 minutes, rest for 20 minutes and start again. On rest time people allowed to walk inside and take picture. The park is... More

We came here for the Christmas lights in November which was very spectacular. The free view on the 46/47th floor is one of the best in Tokyo (including the lift ride up) but can be quite limited. Well worth a visit

The shopping centre is pretty easy to navigate and has acces to a free sky wow wi Dow on the 47th floor. Well worth the cost. Especially at night.

We were there for watching a night lighting. It was far smaller than expected, but that is only the downside. The night lighting show was scheduled every one hour. And it was so stunning...! Just go and see how amazing it is!

Tokyo tourist info center gave us a list of the top ten roof top observatories in Tokyo. Among them the Dentsu Tower in Shiodome. Unfortunately just one window, facing the south , is accessible for free, overlooking Odaiba, the Rianbow bridge, Tsukiji Market and the Asahi Shinbun headquarters. Only positive point: no wait at the elevators, the latter are very... More

Even if you don't want to shop/eat here, take advantage of the express elevator to the top floors. Fantastic view going up/down as well as a quiet area to get an aerial view of the Tsukiji Market and Imperial Palace.

With floors and floors of good food, there is even Din Tai Fung among the choices! Take a lunch break and enjoy a quick, or elongated meal at Caretta Shiodome mall.

Lots of shops and restaurants inside the building. Go on to the top floor for sky-view restaurants. Only 5-10 minutes walk from Royal Park Hotel Shiodome or Park Hotel Tokyo.

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
