We loved this garden. we got there first thing in the morning. We enjoyed the layout, the pathways and bridges, mounds and views. There were only a few flowers in bloom, but that didn't matter. Sit on a bench, take it all in. Very small but worth it in every way.

Japanese official gardens like this are one of my favorite things about Japan. They are, for the most part, designed in such a way that they are beautiful from every angle. I found myself turning around and taking many photos behind me, and going to different areas of the park to capture different aspects. It was in December and cold,... More

The Kyu(Former)-Shiba-Rikyu Garden is one of two Edo period clan landscape gardens surviving in modern Tokyo, former imperial garden, which is now a public garden. In this beautiful little garden which costs only 150 yen to enter, you can enjoy many flowers, such as azalea, Japanese iris, Japanese wisteria, etc. This Garden is now completely surrounded by office buildings and... It is an oasys in the middle of Tokyo: peacefull public garden, that was former imperial garden. Worth the visit , but take in account that the last admission is at 4 pm. Do not miss the 300 year Pine!

Absolutely stunning inner city garden. The landscaping was great and the plum trees were blooming while I was there. Had a great picnic with a fantastic view of the city.

We spent over two hours walking and sitting in this gorgeous garden. Special attention is given to seasonal flowers. There was only one in bloom when we were there but they were so thoughtfully planted in places that accentuated their beauty.

This park was ok... Cost a few bucks to get in. The day we went it was very overcast and rainy (most of our trip was). The landscape was pretty and we saw some turtles and birds. I think there are nicer parks and ones that don't have an admission fee. This one is in a busy part of the... More

Shiba Rikyu is a classic Japanese landscape garden in central Tokyo. A green oasis surrounded by tall buildings, with the typical elements of a Japanese landscape garden. Very peaceful .

This a beautifully laid out garden where you can walk around and just enjoy nature. You are surrounded by skyscrapers, yet it a very peaceful place where you can relax and enjoy.

A beautiful little garden next to Daimon Street and Hamamatsucho stations, it only takes about a half hour to stroll around, but as long as you like to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet in the heart of a bustling area. Very reasonable entry fee reduced for seniors.

Thank Neill B

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
