Great option instead of Tokyo tower as free and still having great views. Fantastic view of Mount Fuji from the south observation tower. There are explanations of landmarks which helps tourist identify the locations

Slightly out of the way- on the business district. However, if you want an excellent view of Tokyo from the sky- then this is free and easy to go to. I would say that the best viewpoint is within the cafe at the top (...More

A pretty nice view of Tokyo. Fuji should be visible on a good day. Best part is that it's free if you don't want to fork out for the more popular towers.

We walked from Shinjuku Tozai Exit to the building. It was indeed a very long walk. Think about half an hour. Might have gotten out from the wrong exit. The queue to the observatory tower was not too Long and was very well Organised. We...More

It's a good way to learn about Japanese government. Free tours are available and it was very informative.

We stayed near this building in Shinjuku, so we came here at night. Only the South Tower is open after 5pm. It's free, after all! If you're in the area already, it's definitely worth it. There's a souvenir shop at the viewing area.

Incredible views of the city from different directions. Gift shop is pricey. Best tourist thing-to-do for free

This building was conveniently located near our hotel. It offers great views of the surrounding area. Staff in the building is friendly and helpful. It is free and lines for elevators are short.

Both are good. (if I remember correctly) northern one is better in the evening/afternoon because of the sunset.

Trip advisor says Mon-Fri until 6.45pm but .japan-guide.cm for example says North Observatory: 9:30 to 23:00 South Observatory: 9:30 to 17:30. Can anyone confirm the correct opening hours? I'm guessing the non TA times as I've seen people talk about going at night.
