The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.

To start off with, this place is big. It has not only the standard merchandise, but also a Pokemon Go lab, a place for doing the TCG battles, a small arcade area with the new Mezastar game, a small Pokemon gachapon area, and a Pokemon sweets shop. You are definitely not short of variety when you come here.
However, the day I came, the stock was quite poor. Despite the big store, it felt alarmingly empty compared to the other Pokecenters I have been to. Perhaps just the luck of the draw but couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed about my visit.

An essential stop for anyone who is (or is shopping for a) Pokémon fan. The size of the location ensures that there is a huge selection of merchandise which is often rotated so it is worth going anytime you are in Tokyo.
I made the mistake of going the day after the release of a new game so it was a complete madhouse but the staff are well organized and you will be spending all your yen in no time.

A little bit on the crowded side at times, this is a great place to get all of your Pokémon goodies! There is everything from homewares and pasta, to toys and stationary! We recommend visiting if you play Pokémon Go, as there is often a raid here and getting in is no trouble!

Even you didn’t buy anything, coming there will reward you with an opportunity with some awesome Pokemon sculptures around the store. At the outside, a Solgaleo and Lunala stand at the store entrance to welcome visitors. Besides, there are the above life-size Mega Charizard Y with Pikachu riding on his back and the enormous Poké Ball near the entrance to the store.

So much to see at this Pokémon center! It was hard to limit ourselves on what to buy. As a bonus, the new Pokemon Go center and Pikachu Sweets bakery are right next door, as is a mini Pokémon arcade and soft play area. The whole area is a must for anyone who loves Pokémon!

A must stop for Pokémon lovers but know that they do not sell cards in English. Something of a disappointment for our 10 year old. Go EARLY! It gets super crowded by noon. Pokémon Go Lab is cool but has potential for technical problems. Cafe is limited to cupcake or pudding. Not gonna happen for a GF DF kid.

Whether one is a true Pokemon fan or just someone interested in Pokemon plush toys or memorabilia, the Pokemon Center is a must-visit.
The Pokemon Center is located on the second floor of Sunset City. By and large Pokemon Center features Pokemon-related toys, pillows, stationeries, and other memorabilias. Even if one is not a real fan of the series there is a souvenir to be bought here.
In the occasions that I’ve gone to Japan, I’ve always visited the place. At all those occasions, the place have always crowded though with the numerous check out lines, one does not have to wait for long to pay. The staff’s attention is also to be commended as any glassware (eg. mugs) from this store are specially wrapped so that it has less of a chance of being broken into pieces on the way home from Japan.

I was there about 4 months ago. I'm pretty sure they had Switch and 3ds consoles for sale. If not, try Bic Camera. They had a huge games section.
