About
This property is going to be closed during the period of November 1st until February 28th. Alfabia, originally the residence of the Moorish viceroy of Majorca , Ben - Abet, who ordered to make the mudejar celling in 1220, lies on the southern slope of the Coll de Soller. The house and the garden combine an area of outstanding beauty and have been declared by the goverment a cultural monument in 1954. The murmur of the water is a constant backdrop to the whole walk. Inside the house, worthy to mention "el llibre de ses franqueses" given by the King Jaume I in 1246 to Majorca and the gothic chair, hand made in Flanders at the end of XV century.

Absolute disgrace. We (group of 3 hobby photographers and 3 models) wanted to take pictures of the models with backgrounds of the gardens. We asked the lady and she said it was ok. The moment we started near the entrance she came to us that we had to pay 120eur per person extra. Her argument was that we had professional equipment with us but they were normal reflex cameras. We asked our entrance money back and quitted the gardens. When you say first ok and then ask 120eur per person (x6) it feels like a scam.

Give us a reason to come back! Disappointed
Sep 2021 • Family
I want to be kind, however I was disappointed with our visit here. Although it was inexpensive, I came out feeling I wanted reimbursing. The garden held no beauty in September. From what I could see of the planting it may be a little better in Spring time. The old buildings had some charm and historical interest, we found relaxation and refreshments at a small cafe bar, but unfortunately the grounds lacked attention, actually barren in some places. My opinion would be to get a garden designer in to give it a boost, the small pond in the centre is crying out for a Monet makeover! Obviously Spanish planting! Lots of potential, needs some passion.

Small, bit pricey but good cafe bar in pretty setting
Jun 2021 • Family
This is a very small botanical garden and quite pricey for the size, but it is very pretty and has a magnificent entrance and rather lovely cafe bar to sit in.

We enjoyed

Nice but small garden, remember to bring your own food
Jun 2021
Lovely garden, grounds and house to visit for a (very) short trip. We drove an hour to visit the place and were a little surprised that it only took half an hour to walk through the entire place including taking pictures... we expected it to be a lot bigger.

There's a little cafe on site with maybe 5 tables to sit that offers (overpriced) drinks, but no food! So def bring something with you to snack. Our visit actually lasted half an hour longer just waiting in line and the poor server was absolutely flustered trying to get everyone their drinks and then no-one had a place to even sit down.. it was quite ridiculous.

Not worth it.
Sep 2020
Reduce the entry price. It was definitely not worth €7.50 entry. We were through the gardens we had actually travelled some distance especially to see in about 20 minutes. Plenty of shady palms but the rest was pretty uninspiring. I actually enjoyed the house and out buildings more.
Very disappointed overall.

Beautiful even in March

Even in March, this was a beautiful place. I can imagine this being absolutely stunning in April/May when everything is green and blooming.

I would definitely come here again.

Wonderful wisterias
Oct 2019
The gardens are easy to reach via the 211 bus from Port de soller to Palma. The bus leaves you just outside the entrance to the gardens and some clean toilets.

The gardens are not full of pretty little flowerbeds but they are gracious and elegant. With many fine palms and the biggest healthy wisterias I have ever seen. It’s a shame we visited in October when they were out of flower. They must indeed be something to see in April May.

The ponds and water features were well maintained and we felt very rested after our visit.

If you are in the port de soller or Palma area and want to visit a ver classy garden this is it.

Go early or late
Sep 2019
Beautiful gardens in a spectacular setting just off the main road from Palma to Soller near to the southern entrance of the main tunnel near Bunyola. Easily access by bus from Palma on the route 211 to Soller with the bus stopping outside the garden entrance. Entrance 7.5 euro.
We visited on a glorious morning before the inevitable coach parties arrived and it was an oasis of calm. We’d suggest an early or late visit to miss the crowds.
A bar in the centre of the gardens provides a pleasant watering hole and the toilet facilities are the best we’ve ever seen at a country garden!
A lovely stop off on the route from Palma to Soller.
PS Don’t miss the water ‘feature’ in the arched walkway!

A very quiet place and nice visit to see
Oct 2019 • Family
The place is worth, very nice garden and worth to sit having a drink outside. It is relaxing and quiet. The complete visit including the house and dependance is interesting, old oil mill...
Entrance is a bit expensive but you will spend a nice time visiting the place
