As we only spent 1 night in la guardia we were recommended to visit la fabulista. Sadly there was only myself and my partner on the 1930 tour which was hosted by the owner who spoke no English. I translated to the best of my ability and the tour of the caves was superb with a tasting of 2 wines... More

This was THE BEST tour we have ever been on (and not just winery tours)! Our tour guide Kruth had an amazing knowledge of the history of the region, city, building, wine making, grapes, etc. You could definitely tell she had a passion for everything she told us by her enthusiasm and attention to detail. If you want the true... More

We had booked a tour here absolutely blind and based on the recommendation of our hotel.. what a place! Both informative and atmospheric, with great emphasis placed on the traditional values of the place. Set in deep ancient tunnels!

We were lucky to visit during the wine making in October . The guide really knew the history of the family and wine making techniques. Visit is only in Spanish with a short written explanation in English. You visit the underground bodegas and end the tour with a tasting of young wine and barrel finished wine (American oak). Good value... More

We first visited this bodega on a Thursday in the late afternoon. We were told to come back on Friday at 5pm for the next English-speaking tour that fit our schedule. We did just that, and planned our Friday afternoon to be able to visit the bodega at 5pm. When we arrived, the person who greeted us simply said it... More

El Fabulista was the first bodega we visited – where we enjoyed a guided tour underground, before going on to taste a selection of the wines. I loved that the bottles' labels depicted fables and we sampled ‘The Deer & the Vine’ and ‘The Fox & the Grapes’ – both of which were red wines. It was pleasing to see... More

Having visited a number of bodegas/wineries of differing sizes, this was the last visit of our holiday. Once you get past the first room and down into the tunnels, the history of the place is wonderful, it is ancient - however - are we the only group of visitors that seriously is doubting if wine is actually made there ??... Don't miss this winery tour. If you are lucky enough to be visiting in October you may be able to stomp the grapes! Our tour missed this chance but we really enjoyed the tour of the wine tunnels and the tasting. Also loved the excellent food provided with our tasting.

This was my first time to a bodega and it was very interesting. Cesar was our guide and he was able to explain the process of how they make the wine so everyone could understand. They use the old process to make there wine. Had a fun time with my friends and I would definitely repeat.

Because this is a small bodega and not part of any chain it has kept its traditional methods for making the wine and it is the only bodega still making wine in Laguardia within the town. They use the underground tunnels to store the wines and you can only acquire their wines from here. We found the guide very enthusiastic... More
