Cooling off in the sea

We thought we would find the seaside and came across this place. The sea is beautiful and ideal for small children as it is shallow. There are some little fish that swim near the shore. I think we visited out of season so could park on the road. The town nearby has plenty of places to eat and drink, buy ice-cream and beach toys. The town is a little dated but if it was more modern, I expect more people would visit.

a piece of heaven ...in the week

I have been in this slice of sea heaven in different occasions, out of season when the beach is completely empty and last weekend when it was not as in summer time there are various organized beach bars offering the option to get sunlounges and service .
The half moon shaped beach is eyes filling , the sandy beach allows you to take long walks , the dunes on your back do protect in some cases from the wind , when this is not coming from the sea. I remarked that early morning there were a lot of small , micorscopic insects that then dispappeared , but that were quite fastidious .
The sea is amazing , clear and , in my opinion better on the left side of the beach.
Try to enjoy it during weekdays , anyhow the beach is so big that you will find a spot for you ,

Thefts are rampant!!! Police does nothing to stop it! BEWARE!!!

I wish i have seen the comment below before i have decided to stop there : we were robbed in exactly the same manner couple of days ago - we have left our car for less than 30 minutes - went to rest on the beach on our 300miles journey to Reggio. The car was within my sight all the time, all for nothing as they took everything - bags with my documents and car keys that i parked at the airport back in UK, my jacket that was hang at the back of a seat with my passport, some money etc. We have reported it to the local Carrabinieri, I believe nothing will be done about it , as we were told that this is "common" and the thefts will persist.
Here is my appeal to local people: if you see a red MAZDA 2 i believe a 2006 model, with a couple (men and woman) in their late 40's inside, parked at one of the beaches car park and sitting inside the car, you may be sure it is them - you know what to do - they are a detriment to your local economy and reputation of Italian hospitality, which is in general very warm! something must be done it's about high time!

!!! Warning !!! Everything was stolen from our car!!!

We visited this beach the 1st of October 2015. We left our car for only 30minutes on the parking. When we came back the car was empty, everything was stolen (2 suitcases were taken out of the car, gps, camera, our cards and identity papers!) ! Police told us that it happens all the time here, unfortunately nothing is done to stop the criminal organization who does this!! Avoid this place!!

One of the worst places ever

terrible, terrible, terrible. First parking was outrageous, no where whatsoever. I felt like I was at the mall, not at one the most beautiful beaches in the world!! No place where to lay down and sunbathe. NO SPACE to swim or anything else. Maybe off season.

One if not best beaches in Apuglia. Been here for 14 days, staying in Otranto with excellent choice of extremely beautiful beaches around but Punta Prosciutto is a stand out! It resembles Sardinia's beaches which are my favorites...

Fantastic beach with cristal clear water

It looks like a pool. Light blu water with soft sand. A section is a bit more wild while the section closer to the parking is more crowded. For family

Clear water, nice people and not that expensive. Try it and you will not be disappointed! Can be romantic or can be perfect for familes. Your kids will love it!! The water is as clear as any place in the carribean or similar places!

It was my Birthday I swam in this place. I have swam all along Adriatic and ionic , a t least in 5 more places, this one was the best ! it gave me unforgettable memories, very romantic too.

Yes, it might some rubbish was on a beach, but I haven't found it too dirty, everything is relative, isn't it?It might I was in a very good mood, but igf I can choose which beach i can return once it wil be definitely this one.
I wish to stay here for longer and enjoy life near the sea !

many private beaches with chairs to be rented. fine sand, beautiful water but definitely a dirty, full of cigarettes everywhere in the sand, but it's a general comment for southern Italy beaches.
