One of a few castles remaining in Spain that are pristine and very well preserved. Tours every day for 4 euros, they have audio English tours and it takes a few hours to see it. Wear comfortable shoes, lots of climbing steps

Truly in the middle of nowhere, this castle has taken years to renovate. Opening hours are erratic, so if you really must go in, check carefully before you go. Beautiful restoration and as a bonus, there are windmills right by it too.

Perfectly restored to impress its visitors, Castillo de Belmonte is one of a kind and well deserving its fame for everything it has to offer. Being famous for ages, since the movie "El Cid" was shot there in 1961, the castle is also well know for holding real medieval fights every year in September. Do not miss it if you're around!…
