Went here on a Sunday around midday, and while it was a very good experience, there are some niggles that aren't quite up to scratch. For starters, it is isolated in a small quaint town, so if you arrive by taxi (as most do) then...More

We had a lovely time visiting Turda Salt Mine! We didn't take the elevator to get in the mine but the stairs so that we could breath more of the salty air which is good if you're having respiratory problems. We had a lovely walk...More

Really interesting place, another underground world. A lot of things to do down there- table tennis, mini golf , boat in underground lake, Viena wheel. Good for kids also.

I have never been to a salt mine and was not expecting the beauty if it all! If you have a fear of heights.... just don't look down when you are on the elevator! lol

We included in our tour this location and we went absolutely enthusiastic about this place. This touristic objective is very well arranged. Plenty of indicators will explain you what we may want to know about that place. Just visit... you will not regret!

History, mining, therapy or simple tourist...whatever your interest, try to visit it if you are in the region. It surely worth the 8 eur that you pay for entrance. Try to avoid holidays, where the place tends to become overcrowded.

There are a few cells which nothing interesting, a lift which bring you down to the lower ground and is a playground. This is totally waste of time.

What an odd and fantastic place. Where else could you go way down into a mine and row a boat, play table tennis, pool, go on a ferris wheel or go bowling? Totally cray and totally worth a visit. Don't be afraid to beat the...More

There are elevators but when it is crowded you should wait a lot:( so try to go in week days. I would recommend to ask if they have a special solutions for the people who can have difficulties while they are walking.

We will be in Sibiu and also Sighisoara next month. Would this be a worthwhile trip and if so from which town or just too far from either, we would be using public transport.

The Salt Mine is a gem, but as others have said, if you do not plan to spend some time in Cluj as well (although you should, if you can), the trip may be a bit of a stretch. Public transportation is not among the best things... More

Take the ALIS Group microbus from Piata Mihai Viteazul to Turda. Ask the driver to tell you when to alight for the "Salinas Entrare Vecche." From that bus stop, cross the road and keep walking straight on: you are walking... More
