This place was pretty cool. We wanted something to pass an hour or so for a relaxing day. Steven had so much knowledge about the animals. We held a snake and learned a lot. I recommend going with the guide. You simply miss so much if you don't know what to look for and the interesting facts of the animals.... More

Did this tour with my family in September 2016, Our English Speaking Guide was very knowledgeable, the exhibits were amazing and it was fun to see things up close that you would not WANT to encounter in the wild!

We are a family of four with small children. We visited this place today following a long hike. We arrived tired and not very excited (except from our son of 6). But then we were greeted by a guide called Victor. And he was great! Great with kids and with parents :) He made all the difference. We left the... More

I'm not a huge reptile fan, compared to my interest in other flora and fauna. I was nonetheless informed and intrigued by this tour including a lot of information about Costa Rican snakes and frogs, and some handling opportunities.

Definitely more of a local type zoo or Reserve. Which we like . Not sure what to call it. Did get to hold a python and saw lots of different snakes. The guide was great. Tells you all about the snakes. I don't think you have a choice of a guude or not but if so I would use the... More

Small, family owned place with a family which clearly cares for the animals. We went in after some haggling on the price and wanting to pay by card rather than cash. (Cash was apparently very much preferred). The place is very small, and really not too much to see. If you do go, go with one of the family members... More

We stopped here when the rain made us unable to do other things we had planned. You get up close and personal with snakes, frogs, turtles, spiders, beetles, butterflies, etc. The girl at the front desk was so nice - she checked up on us a few times to make sure we saw everything and gave us a little info... We visited the Eco Zoo towards the end of our trip- we had done quite a lot of trekking in national parks but the were some animals that we had not managed to see especially the red footed frog! The Eco zoo has a greyest variety of reptiles, amphibians, butterflies and insects that are shown by knowledge staff that give... More

We stopped here after a long trek through the Mistico hanging bridges with our 6 and 10 year old daughters. At first it looked like a hole in the wall, but once you go inside, there are endless displays of reptiles and amphibians. The staff let our daughters hold several of the specimens, and they were so friendly and knowledgeable.... More
