If you have the guts to go out in the jungle in the middle of the night, this is the absolute best way to do it! We did the Night Jungle Hike through Arenal Eco Zoo, and the experience was unbelievable. Our guide, Chris, was one of the best people we met on our stay in Costa Rica and made... More

I was a little skeptical at first but we had a great time and our guide Chris really educated us on all of the the snakes and other creatures they had. The tour takes about an hour and is well worth taking if you are ever in the area.

We were not sure what to expect, but when we finally got there (it is a bit of a drive from the La Fortuna area) we were pleasantly surprised. The zoo is a labor of love for Victor and his sons. They have so many snakes, frogs, lizards, etc. Among the reptiles and amphibians they have, you will see red... More

After reading the reviews here we expected a splendid time in the zoo. Well - we had amazing moments, i.e. when we could get in touch with snakes or tarantulas. But all in all the area is quite small. What's great, is that there are guides explaining a lot about the animals in CR.

We visited with our 2 boys aged 9 and 6. This place is well off the beaten track and all the better for it . It was just us and another young family there . Our guide was very knowledgable and funny and quick ( always good with young kids ) and fed a live mouse to a snake and... More

Chris is a guy who relly went for to teach us something we did not know. How to bahave toward snakes in general and to each individually. Which snake jums an how long, where it bits. We exercised how to find camouflaged snake on branch. We saw how the snake bits and eat the mouse. You can easy imagine what if... More

Came here twice, paid $12 per person, both times the guide was great, a lot of information, very friendly, several species in the wild. Loved it!

I enjoyed the Reptiles and the various animals on show. The guide was really informative and even opened a few cages for a close but safe view.

A evening walk in nature was different, our guide had flashlights and was very adept in finding and showing us a variety of nesting birds an three toe sloth and baby, a few different species of frogs , including the red eyed frog. I would suggest the night walk only for something different , the day light experience would provide... More

Stopped by for a visit after going to Sky Adventures for some ziplining. This was about 15 minutes further down the road. Basically, you pay an admission fee and a tour guide takes you through the exhibits to look at snakes, frogs, lizards, toads and insects. It takes about an hour and a half. They will let you hold some... More
