We stopped at quiet a few military cemeteries on our leger beer and battlefields tour. Lijssenthoek was different in having a modern but small visitors centre. All of the military cemeteries are immaculately cared for by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The grave of the...More

Over 30 Chinese were buried in this cemetery which has a most informative visitor centre. War diaries recording information of those who died here can be found. Amazing discovery of Chinese sent here to support the war effort.

Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery is enormous, moving, and beautiful. The small visitors' centre is well worth half an hour of close perusal - of the displays detailing the evacuation of wounded from the battlefields of the Great War. There are also recordings of diaries and letters...More

It is always difficult when one reviews such poignant places as this. All I can say is this.... This is a hugely humbling place to visit and pay respect to all of those here that gave their lives in the Great War. This was a...More

Bill We were travelling in our own car, so can't help with the name of a tour company, but I'm sure there was a tour bus in the car park - maybe it was Battle Honours, I must admit I didn't take any notice, Another option... More
