We were there and expected more from this place. Yes, the view over the town and the val d’Orcia is nice, but that’s it! Won’t go there again.

Wonderful structure with a very interesting history. A visit with good weather will be repaid with breathtaking views of the surrounding Tuscan hills.

We drove from Orvieto to see the Fortezza di Radicofani and it was well worth the trip. Parking inside the entrance is free and entry to the grounds and Fortezza is Euro 4 pp. There are toilets and a bar/restaurant. The views are simply stunning and on a clear day you can see four regions and the tyrrhenian sea. The onsite bar/restaurant has a simple menu. We had pasta dishes for lunch, delicious and reasonably priced. Staff are warm and friendly too. The lady selling tickets is very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to meet and chat with her. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.…
