One of Australia’s premier venues for the exhibition of contemporary photo-based arts, that offers great enjoyment for everyone ad well as an understanding of contemporary practice. This place was established in 1986 by a group of photographers as a not-for-profit resource centre. It has now...More

Always interesting to pop in and see the latest exhibitions - but check opening days and times. Clean lines, lots of natural light where needed and worth the visit.

I've visited a few times since moving to Fitzroy a year ago - I don't always 'get' the work I'm seeing but I enjoy visiting - the photography on show is varied and interesting.

It is small and sometimes (not often) the visit is worthwhile but rarely amazing. Mostly the exhits are disappointing. I would only recommend if you were already in the area and had some time between other engagements.

This place was much smaller than I expected. It's only about 2 rooms large, and they rotate exhibits through it. Not a lot of it was actually photography, which was disappointing.

Bit hit and miss - although I have seen some impressive works here. Worth a look if you are in the area.

we went here for a photographic exhibition. Walking in there is a broken step, followed by some stairs, there is no other way into the gallery. This was a fairly small space with beautiful photographs nicely displayed. I would go back for other exhibitions, but...More

Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots,
hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic.
Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll
find little independent shops where local clothes and
furniture designers display their wares. There are
specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality
vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best
thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its
