You have to go on a guided tour which I think is about an hour. Tours go every 30 mins and there is a cafe and toilets across the road if you have time to fill before your tour starts, and a gift shop. There...More

Nuraghi stone structures unique to Sardinia. Discovered in 1950 it is an impressive sight. Descending to the bottom of the central section could be difficult for older people.

This was well worth the detour to get there as very impressive archeological site of significance. Good guided tours and great to see the efforts to preserve somethings so ancient. Worth a visit

This ancient village and fortress is the first place I tell people about when they ask me about my trip to Italy. 3500 year-old tribute to human ingenuity.

The site is well maintained and preserved and you walk through with a knowledgable guide that tells you the history that is known. (There are parts that they don't know because there is no proof and only speculation for answers)

We were on a cruise in the Western Mediterranean and one of the stops was Sardinia. I knew nothing about Sardinia but picked out one of the few short excursions I thought we would like without spending several hundred dollars per person. Barumini is an...More

Amazing site. We were worried about taking our 3 and 1 year old having read previous reviews. It was fine, but you cannot take buggies or baby back carriers when you climb up and ideally your children should be walking (our youngest is only just...More

I think about an hour actually touring so I'd say at least 1 1/2 hrs minimum. Remember stairs (up and down), sometimes tight are involved so the group you are with could have some effect on overall tour time. Our group was 8... More

Rent a car or hire a cab. There might be a bus, but I didn't try. It's easy to drive there. Take local coins for the parking meter. They monitor parking closely.
