Long empty black sandy beach
Nov 2020 • Couples

Thursday 26th November and we visited the Town of Tarajelejo and its beach which are located on the southern coast of the Island.

The beach which  measures around 1,400 metres long is situated in a large bay l volcanic sand that is peppered, in places, by stones and shingle.

When we visited it was rather cloudy and overcast which only make the dark grey volcanic sand appear even darker.

We found the beach to be deserted apart from an old gazebo, there were no sunbeds or umbrellas, perhaps the season had finished.

The beach is divided by a dry river bed/flood drain, with a small bridge crossing incorporated in the promenade.

There is a promenade that runs the length of the beach. There are hotels, shops, cafes & restaurants along it as well as a few sculptures.

2nd Visit
Aug 2020 • Couples
Our 2nd visit here, & we have discussed maybe making an annual visit to chill out.

Along with the R2 hotel, Adult Only & All Inclusive, there are the Apartments Varadero for the self catering holiday.

The bay has a wonderful promenade, which can take an hour to walk at a nice slow relaxing pace.

If you like somewhere to visit off the beaten track, & with very little to do but chillaxe, then this could be the place for you.

Great promenade and black beach
Dec 2019
This little town is a bit different from the rest of Fuerteventura as it has a black sandy beach. We came here by hire car for the morning and really loved the wide promenade, following the shore. The sculptures that had been recently added were particularly fun. We both liked the Seahorse, but the others were very good too. At the end of the promenade there are caves. A great walk on a really good surface. Recommend.

Black sandy beach

The beach and the views are lovely, it’s a nice walk down to the end of the promenade. What saddened me was the amount of cigarette ends on the sand, no need at all as there bins for rubbish.

Nice & Quiet
Sep 2019 • Couples
Great place to stay for a relaxing Holibobs.
The walk along the promenade is easy going, the walk up the hill above the bay is a little bit taxing but worth it to see the views & to look over the edge of the cliffs onto the rugged coastline.

Being all Inclusive meant there's no need worrying where to eat, but we did see 4 places that looked ok.

There is a bus service, but it's best to hire a car at the airport & then you can easily get out & about.

Definitely a nice place & a nice part of the island to visit.

Nice beach but Las Playitas is worth the trip.
Apr 2019
This is a very nice beach (with black sand not white) away from all the hustle and bustle of costa calma. You find a lot of locals park their camper vans here for the weekend to enjoy the beach and sea. There is one hotel the R2 Bahia Playa overlooking the beach and it has excellent views. A nice beach to visit but I would recommend travelling a little further along the coast to las Playitas. Beautiful beach and nice restaurants!

Black sandy beach with some rocks. Great snorkelling to be done. Promenade is a nice walk. Can be windy and exposed.

Stony black beach
Dec 2018 • Couples
Not appealing as very littered black sand and not one sunbed on beach. Into sea very rocky. Needs some care and attention, raking and nice sunbeds and it would look more attractive, first time been abroad and not Sat on beach!

Stayed at the R2 Bahia

My wife & I spent for nights here. It is s beautiful, unspoilt little town. We have done all the Canaries but this was our first time to Fuerteventura & what a contrast.
There is very little to do so ideal if you are looking for a quiet break.
There is a well stocked Spar supermarket but be warned it closes early on Saturday's & is closed on Sunday's.
Overall a nice quiet little resort.

Quiet clean calm beach
Oct 2018 • Couples
Lovely paved walkway along the shore line, dotted with exercise equipment which is free to use! Beware of rust though, it’ll ruin your clothes! The beach is clean, black sand, a few pebbles but just lovely
