Sunset place
Jun 2020 • Couples
The old bridge is the best place for enjoying the sunset. You can sit there easily, there is not too much traffic and the view is really beautiful. Restaurants and shops are nearby.

No need to actually include it in guides

So the Frenchies built a bridge that connects two islands. Much whoa!
This "landmark" isn't such. It should not be included in trip advisor.

once upon a time...
Jan 2020
once there was a colonial power that had to transport naval boats up the Mekong. unfortunately there are some strong and high rapids here. so they built a railway accross two islands to transport the vessels upriver... the bridge between the two islands is a remnant of this railway line, as is the old locomotive standing in Don Khong and the leftover of the harbour on Don Det.

Stands out from the landscape

Stands out from the landscape - remains of a French colony. It is good way to visit second island. Nice river view.

The old French railway Bridge is heavily used by the locals. The view is amazing. If you are here, just walk over here and take a stroll and photoshoot.

You have to cross it anyway
Sep 2019 • Solo
You have to cross it to go to either islands. And didn’t watch the sunset from there but I think you have better views from the Sunset Boulevard. Still you can see some beautiful houses within the trees and it seems to have a nice boutique hotel

Linking bridge from Don Det to Don Khone
May 2019 • Solo
Pretty awesome views cycling across, also an ideal place for sunset watching with a beer.

Watch out for motorbikes though, they pass by quite quickly. Safety first :)

Connecting the two islands
Jun 2019 • Couples
It is a photogenic background...connects the two islands of Don Det and Don Khon so you’re bound to cross it if staying at either place

Bridge to other island
Mar 2019 • Couples
Bridge from Don Det to Don Khone. Pretty old bridge nothing spectacular but a good place for a few photo opportunities. Would not recommend driving across drunk late at night. No barriers. It is a bridge full stop.

Sunset with a BeerLao
Feb 2019 • Couples
The sunsets here are stunning. Grab a beer or a fresh coconut from one of the near restaurants and watch the sun disappearing between the jungle-islands of the mekong river. You won't be here allone, but the atmosphere is calm and relaxed.
