- Wander11 contributionsBeautiful beach! This is a beautiful beach with amazing clear water so we were able to see little fish swimming around. And with snorkels on you can swim further to see some more creatures but nothing too big just beautiful fish and white sand. There are many sun-beds available along the beach and we found some for €10 which included a lockbox for phones and other important things. We also returned at night twice and watched the sunset, the sun disappears behind a mountain on the island but that doesn’t ruin the beautiful colours of the sky. And even at night the water still stays quite shallow and definitely warm. I really love this beach.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 July 2023
- Adele DBuckingham, United Kingdom24 contributionsGreat beach - especially for childrenThe sea slopes very slowly so it is shallow for quite a way out, making this a great beach for families. Lots of fish to see if you have a mask and snorkel so take some bread in a sealed bag and crumble it into the water at various places to feel like you're swimming in an aquarium, especially near the rocks. Swimming shoes are a bonus as there are some sea urchins on the rocks but it is easy to keep away from them and still appreciate the varieties of fish. 2 beach beds and a parasol are about £7 per day with waiter service for drinks and sancksVisited July 2020Written 4 August 2020
- ánthos kerasiásWalsall, United Kingdom272 contributionsWalk, paddle and strollLovely long beach with two jettys, worth the walk from the pebby end up by the Sea View apartments to the jetty at the river mouth. Some parts are quite narrow and steep, especially at the pebbly end and can get a bit obstructed by sunbathers so recommend sea shoes to save your feet. Bathing is highly recommended in the warm blue water and there is no tide. The only waves that break are either whipped up by an offshore wind or the wake from the boats. You can paddle out quite far and only be up to your waist. |Lovely beach!Visited August 2021Written 31 August 2021

Its very shallow water for a long way out and the beach didnt inspire us to lie on a sunbed for the day like we would usually do when on holiday as its a very busy beach and for my taste the beds are placed too close but its still nice with powdery soft sand and youve got little fishes swimming in the clear water.
The best part is when you walk along the beach stopping at the odd beach bar along the way.

Clean beach with crystal clear sea and shallow for good way out.
The only down side is that it was incredibly busy. People were literally sat within arms reach of us on all sides.
Plenty of places for food and drinks on the beach. Some have sunbeds to hire with beach service. (I recommend No Name Bar for great food and service)
Jet ski's and paddle boats to hire.
Cannot wait to return.

The beach is really bad. The water was cold, and the beach doesnt have any sand instead it has stones and rocks, thats the worst entrence of the beach that ive ever seen. Its not good for swimming or relaxing.

The ideal beach 🏖️ should you just want to lie on a sun bed under the shade of a parasol ☂️ ( all for hire) tempered with a delightful sea-breeze, and then cool off in an inviting shallow turquoise sea. Appeared to be an ideal depth for people ( like me) who’re not confident swimmers. Plus there’s a multitude of restaurants, cafes and bars to choose from just backing into the beach. The panoramic vista along the coast and over to neighbouring Kefalonia are lovely, and definitely take a stroll on the pier to get the best overall views.

Alykes beach is absolutely fantastic, lovely soft sand, beautiful sea which is so shallow, wonderfully calm but with a few welcome waves when the wind picks up. The beach is lined with sunbeds & tavernas, many with waiter service on the beach. Ours were €15 which included a large bottle of water in an ice bucket - we were able to reserve the same ones for each visit, which was absolutely perfect.

A really calm and shallow beach, perfect for all ages. Clear seas and with a multitude of beach bars to choose from if you want that sort of thing. Can’t wait to return!

Yes there is a bus from Alykes into Zante. I don't know how much a we didn't use it but I don't think it would be expensive.

on some of the pictures outside of Konstantin hotel the beach looks very pebbly yet everyone is saying how sandy it it, I am confused?

hi Angie. I believe the Konstantin hotel is further up the beach beyond the Astoria and yes, the beach is a bit pebbly there, but walk to the right towards the village and the sand becomes lovely and soft but very hot in the summer. Hope this helps?
