A truly magnificent palace/fort. The view fro the road was wonderful, but even better inside. Elephant rides made it magical. The interiors superb. Large site. Much walking. Worth it. The Maharajah had 12 wives. Hero or villain, find out. At least 2 hours for a thorough look. Hats, water and sunscreen.

One of the best things we did in India. Starting with an Elephant ride, even tho im totally against these kind of things against animals, we loved the ride and made the place even more amazing. The entrance aint expensive and they are gonna ask you for pics all the time, being mean if you dont accept but we ignored... More

wonderful architecture, splendid location, not too crowded in winter! pay attention to the deco - unique glass/mirror work. fortunately, haven't encountered the famous mistreated elephants in the fort itself - seen them from Coffee Day cafe in the street.

I was very impressed with my visit to the Amber Fort. I had a guide to interpret the tour of the fort. Great views of it's walled city, gardens, and water features. A great deal of history and a glimpse into the life of the maharajahs and ruling class. I declined the elephant ride for ethical reasons and the driver... More

Its Very Awesome place And Temple.recommend getting a guide with a group of people as you can cut various lines while entering the fort as well as buying tickets. Be careful when it comes to buying things nearby the fort as they can tend to rip you off!s

Today I visited Amber Fort with a couple of friends, I had read good reviews but didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. We have seen quite a few forts already during our trip to India, and as bad as it sounds they do all start to feel the same (awful to say that I know). The... More

We really enjoyed our visit to Amber Fort, it is an incredible place. Here is so much to see here, and everywhere you look, it is photogenic. This white and red sandstone fort stands high on a hill above the Delhi-Jaipur Highway. It is an old fort, built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. This fort is also very popularly... More

It's situated 15-20 km from Jaipur. Best time to visit Amber (Aamer) forte would be in the morning as it can get pretty hot under the afternoon sun. There are three ways to go up- Walking (Approx 450 small steps), elephant ride for ₹1100 for 2 pax (only one way & you will have to walk down on your own... More

This fort is up a long path mostly steps but not too difficult if not too hot. You can go up by jeep if you prefer. There are many Langur Monkeys - very pretty and great fun to watch. The most spectacular place here is the hall of mirrors. Very tiny pieces of mirror arranged beautifully around the walls and... More
