LOVELY LITTLE CHURCH
Jul 2021
We did make time to call into this lovely little church whilst staying in Kirkbymoorside. Nicely kept inside and out , it’s definitely worth a visit.

Lovely little church which makes me feel so calm. Keep your eyes peeled for woodpeckers love watching them. My dream would be for a wedding blessing there once we have tied the knot

Wonderful historic church

Visited this Saxon church still in regular use hidden away a mile outside Kirkbymoorside. Definitely worth a visit - plenty of parking

So pleased we found it
Aug 2019
So pleased we found this wonderful place. Possibly one of the best things we did on holiday. Great historical interest. Saxon features. Plenty of literature available. Many carvings & fragments inside & outside of the building. Tranquil & cared for atmosphere, secret wooded valley. Good parking. War graves an aditional interest.

Unexpected treasure
Aug 2019
Happened on this church by accident while exploring the area, and was enchanted. The gentleman who’d opened up gave me a brief history and then went on his way. Ancient churches tell so much history, as well as being ‘thin places’. So pleased I found it.

Tranquiity in a picturesque setting
May 2019 • Couples
This is surely the smallest 'minster' church in the country! On a bright sunny day we stepped back through the centuries as the sunlight spilled in through the windows. Built in Saxon times, there are not a great many things to admire but the memorial stones tell something of the significant people who once dwelt in the parish.

The church is obviously lovingly cared for and it's certainly worth a visit, if only to soak up the tranquil atmosphere within its walls.

Smallest Minster in Yorkshire
Mar 2019 • Friends
It's only a well cared for simple little church which feels atmospheric and which played its own own part in history. It has a preserved eight hour/section sundial to remind visitors of how the day was divided before the hustle and bustle we know today. I've heard tell of a strange-clothed man who ran through the graveyard and jumped the wall in daylight - but disappeared into thin air - leaving a sensation of chill with the surprised onlookers!!!!
