laughable experience.

laughable. only one tutor to a class of students. absolutely no proper lessons on grooming. just random snippets of info as tutor helped each student during grooms. usually had to ask about something to get told about it at all. tutor seemed knowledgable but this alone isn’t enough to be a good teacher. weren’t given all the supplies in our grooming kit (slicker brush etc) so had to use ones from the college. were told at the start of the course not to worry about written work as tutor would just tell us all the answers, hardly good teaching ethics in my opinion. (in the end nothing much was taught or told and i ended up completing all my course work through online research rather than any help from the course). bathroom facilities were vile, bathroom for the dogs was mouldy and the bath was litterally slimy with god knows what. loofas were reused on each dog witch to me screams cross contamination of eye infections etc. three dogs came in with severe matting and teeth rotting out of their heads, tutor did not make any type of welfare concern calls to rspca or other organisations or address concerns with owner about the teeth. we did an online test to assess our knowledge and the tutor had genuinely just not taught us about the majority of questions asked. furthermore, i haven’t received any certificate over 4 months after being told it would take ‘a few weeks’ to receive it. despite several emails to the college about this i just got a load of bull replies using covid as an excuse etc. saying they didn’t know when i might receive it. they clearly are expecting me to forget about this so they don’t have to do the bare minimum and sort it out. not sure how someone supposed to progress from this joke of a course and get a job without any certification? Overall seriously do not waste your time or money here. there are much better places and facilities with competent staff than this place. if i could leave 0 stars i would 💀

Wedding
Aug 2019 • Family
After visiting most of the venues in the NE to select one for our daughter's wedding we stumbled upon Kirkley Hall. We loved it immediately, despite it undergoing redecoration, full of step ladderspots of paint, varnish and dust sheets.
The staff could not have been more helpful with suggestions, being adaptable and willing to do anything to make Helen and Wills day so memorable.
Everyone had a wonderful day and guests felt the venue: setting, staff, food quality and flow of the whole day, was exemplary. I would not hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone. A gem of a venue.

Kirkley Hall Christmas Fayre - where? Waste of time and money!
Nov 2018 • Family
On a recommendation from a friend we went to Kirkley Hall christmas fayre on Saturday - what a joke! Cost us £3 each to get in (only under 5s were cheap) to get in and we were walking out after 15 minutes. Hardly any stalls there at all, those that were there were selling over-priced pure tat, or you could buy sandwiches for £5. Nothing 'Christmassy' about it and absolutely nothing to recommend it. Pure waste of time and money.

Spoke to the friend today who had recommended it and he had been on Sunday and he couldn't believe how bad it was either and also left the venue in about fifteen minutes.

Visited the building and grounds
On a Sunday afternoon had a flapjack and Late.
The restaurant was not very busy, wasn’t difficult to get served.
The staff and customers were very friendly and welcoming.
Good selection of food and drinks.
Definitely will return again.

Fantastic wedding venue
Apr 2018 • Couples
We got married here and had a wonderful day.

We had a rather unusual reception and the venue was very accommodating to our needs, we really appreciated their flexibility when bad weather meant that our plans had to change at the last minute.

There were one or two areas that they could have done better, but they were receptive of our feedback.

We have very special memories of our day, which would not have been possible without the can-do attitude of the venue. Thank you very much!

Graduation 👩🏼‍🎓
Jun 2018 • Friends
Came here for my graduation it’s such a lovely place with lovely gardens and views. Some staff were a bit grumpy and they ran out of a lot of alcoholic drinks pretty fast and early in the night but overall it was a fantastic night.

Christmas Fair was a waste of time
Nov 2017 • Couples
Few food stalls and a couple of trinket stalls, 4 fairground rides and a santas grotto, from the stories I've heard of their Christmas fairs this was poles apart, what a waste of time, walked about for 15 minutes seen everything, nothing was great apart from the geordie burger company stand.

Gutted about wasting the time to drive there, i will NOT be back.

I have also heard a lot of stands have decided not to go this year due to problems with management last year, good job people it worked!

Christmas fair
Nov 2017 • Couples
Went with my husband, cost us £3 each to get in. What a waste of money! Hardly any stalls,an ice rink that was £5 for 30 minutes, expensive food stalls etc, really disappointed. The one stall we were told would be there wasn’t! Waste of a morning.

Myself and a friend attended with three children. The staff were so enthusiastic and encouraging with the children, as well as being super friendly to all especially when they were so busy.

Thanks again for a lovely day out 😊
