About
Bodega Vistalba, founded by Carlos Pulenta, goes into a life story that is the most important reference when it comes to assessing the excellence of its wines. The descendant of an Italian family, Carlos Pulenta is the oldest son of Don Antonio Pulenta, one of the founders of the Bodega Penaflor, 80 years ago, which endured until 1997, when it was sold. Bodega Vistalba was built between 2001 and 2004 in a family-owned land at the heart of Vistalba (Lujan de Cuyo). This is where Carlos Pulenta developed his personal viticulture project, involving members of his family, consultants, enologists and a valuable group of people who really know this land. The winery is inspired in the Creole culture, resorting to cutting-edge technology and paying homage to traditional wine-making. It has been designed so that the entire winemaking process is completed using gravity and without pumps. The first wines were produced in the year 2003, and they were first placed on the market in the year 2005. Today, our wines are sold in more than 20 countries. In 2009 Alejandro Bulgheroni, connected to the agroindustry sector through several projects since the year 1999, began his participation in Bodega Vistalba, working with Carlos toward a common goal: "producing top-quality wines of world renown, with a marked identity and personality".

We enjoyed a 4 course lunch with wine pairing.
Great service and good. Choose to sit outdoors with the Andes as the backdrop.
Enjoyed the experience.

Could have been a great experience but unfortunately a bus load of Americans arrived as the tour started and joined us. Kids were in the tasting with us and the other adults were more interested in the football than the tasting. This meant the tasting was lacklustre and the sommelier couldn’t speak over much of the noise. Felt rushed and before we knew it we had tasted four wines and were ushered upstairs and back into the garden. Didn’t help that the soccer game was also starting so the on-site staff were more interested in that than keeping us happy.

We did the tour and tasting in English with Florencia. This was the first tour I did in Mendoza that shared a bit more info on the actual grape growing which was interesting. She shared info with us on the sparkling wines as well.

The tasting was lovely. We tried a sparkling wine, a Sauvignon blanc, a Malbec, and a red blend I think. There was an open bottle of Florencia’s favorite—their Syrah—so she let us try some of that as well. After the tasting, she offered us a bit more wine so we brought that outside and enjoyed their spectacular view.

The tasting was very affordable as well and was half the price of another one we did elsewhere.

Me, my husband and a couple of friends travelled 40 km to have a lunch at Azafran, in Vistalba. We booked this lunch 4 months in advance and received an email to CONFIRM our visit the day before, which we did.

What a big surprise when we arrived at Vistalba and were told that the restaurant was no longer OPEN and that it closed for good in December 2021.

This was a total desrespect with us!! The Vistalba’s staff didn’t even know what was going on, totally unprepared!!! And they didn’t even took accountability for what happened, they acted as if it wasn’t there fault / concern at all!!

We’re never ever returning to Vistalba. We don’t recommend this winery to no one!!!

Maria Stella, we are very sorry for the confusion. Azafran Restaurant which has been working at the winery closed and moved to its previous location in December. They are no longer in the winery. The confirmation you received was from Azafran, not us. We truly appologize for not being able to offer any further compensation but again, the confirmation of the reservation was not done by the winery, and was done by Azafran. Sincerely, Bodega Vistalba

Had heard a lot about the winery. The location is scenic and beautiful ... get an excellent view of the Andes range, and in particular Aconcagua mtn. They have a full 12ft natural cut of the soil, indoors, forms one wall of the tasting room - impressive.
A beautiful winery; The guide was very knowledgeable, and with an excellent command of English.
Unfortunately, the wine tasting was lacking ... they are generous with their tasting portions, but regrettably only offered one premium wine for tasting. This was very unfortunate.

Hi! Thank you very much for your wonderful review regarding our winery. It is a pity indeed that you were not able to taste our premium wines. We offer you our apologies for that! We hope you may visit us again so that we can improve your experience with us! Have a great day! Best regards, Eugenia

Their top of the line facilities, located on a magnificent landscape that surrounds the vineyards made the perfect scene for a relaxed and confortable wine tasting, romantic walk and some of our best profile pictures.
Maybe the only place in Mendoza where you can see a full 12ft natural cut of the soil, and it is indoors.
The attention to detail is noticeable from the gate and through the whole building.
The visit was guided by Franco, who was very knowledgeable, relaxed and really made us enjoy a memorable time, no memory repeated speeches there, thanks god. In fact, all the employees transmitted calmness and good natural feeling.
Wines are out of this world, ask for their CORTE A, the aroma fills the air around!

I was lucky enough to be able to make a last minute reservation, getting the last available table, earlier today. The food for lunch was excellent. They offered two fixed price meals: a 3 course or a 5 course meal ... each paired with the food of each course. Both the food and wine were excellent and the service was first rate. I wish I had taken a photo of both meal selections; but not being very hungry, today I chose the three course meal with grouper. The sommelier did an excellent job of matching one of the wineries wines with each course (including a sparkling wine with the bread before for the first course.) Fortunately, I had hired a driver for the day.

Me and my fiancée visited this winery recommended by the concierge at our hotel, and we had an amazing time! The winery, landscape, the cellar... makes this winery worth visiting. Unfortunately, the restaurant was fully booked but the girls in the shop were very kind and helpful. They offered us a glass of wine while we waited for our tour, courtesy of the winery! Our guide was Caroline, very knowledgeable about everything and also bubbly and fun! The wines are excellent, all of them! I suggest you try the Premium Tasting, you won’t get disappointed with their Progenie I. And the Olive Oil a big surprise (we took home 2 bottles and regretted to not have taken more). Definitely recommend visiting: this is a MUST stop if you are coming to Mendoza! They make you feel like royalty. Muchas gracias Caroline and the rest of team!
