Any chance I get I will visit a lighthouse, not sure what the attraction is but they are all unique in their own way. We were meeting friends who were also holidaying in Tasmania so we figured as we were heading to near where they were staying this was a good spot to go. There is also the Low Head... More

Worth a visit because you can get some history of the ship wrecks. Good views of the river entrance and the reef.

Great views from this iconic lighthouse. Be there Sunday midday to hear fog horn blast. A credit to those who restored it. Nearby museum is really a credit to the community. So much history that gives a true insight into how things operated in 1800. You can even try your hand at morse code. Great for kids to learn. Definitely... More

A drive up, good carpark, footpath and some info signs. It's free app you can't expect to much, but the rugged coastline is worth being experienced. Do it if you're in the area.

We passed by the fairy penguin colony ground. It was closed for guided penguin tour. To our surprise, we were shown by a very friendly local an fairy penguin hiding in the bushes along the walkway to the light house. Be prepared for the strong wind when you walk around the light house!

The drive out to the lighthouse is nice and it is located on a point with reasonable views. There is just something romantic about lighthouses and I can't resist them. If you don't have that same sense of romanticism you might not be as interested unless of course (like me) you are a tragic photographer then it will hold some... More

Another lighthouse crossed off and the Low Head Lighthouse is a beautifully maintained facility over looking the Tamar River. A scenic 40 minute drive from Launceston, the sight is bery well presented.

Visited on Thursday 24th November. We have been to Low Head before but never visited the Lighthouse. This Lighthouse is well looked after and worth spending sometime to visit on the mouth to Tamar River.
