The lakes (a flood alleviation scheme) and the forest are wonderful quiet places, but access for walkers is very poor. Very few ( if any?) marked trails. But very good access and facilities for cyclists, cars and boats.

I am looking for a hotel for an over night stop in July where we can take our dog. Ideally I'd like somewhere with secure parking as our car will be loaded up, and somewhere that has somewhere to walk our dog from the hotel without having to drive to anywhere. Hoping someone can help.
