Great spot to cool off so close to cairns. Very refreshing, water is very cold but it is worth getting in.

The hike is not too long (maybe 15-20 mins each way) but it's a nice place to stop and take a quick stroll thru the wilderness and see a nice natural wonder like Crystal Cascades. Very beautiful and off the beaten path.

Beautiful scenery and location is close enough for all to easily get too and enjoy. Highly recommend the waterfall rappelling, jumping and zip lining adventure by Reading Thunder

This is a good free alternative to Mossman Gorge. The path is cement so very accessible. The water levels were a bit low when I visited but during the wet season I imagine there would be plenty of good little cliff jumps. Lots of places to swim so if its busy just keep on walking up the path to find... More

We have stayed in this beautifully maintained, quiet and very friendly park for 20 years, usually twice a year. Last stay of 7 weeks Sept./Oct. was at the end of the main tourist season so always sites available. We always take one of the 10 ensuite sites which are serviced once a week and bath mat and hand towel changed. Owners... More

If you have a short time to kill just drive up the hill from Cairns to visit this small cascade with plenty of swimming holes along the way. The locals go there a lot since it is free and free of crocs.... Paved road so easy access. About a 20 minute walk.

This is a very nice place which is popular with local residents and not on the usual tourist trail. A pleasant 1.2km walk from the car park to the waterfall through tall trees along a paved pathway, means it is accessible to most people. Occasionally a big blue Ulysses Butterfly cruises past. The cascades provides a small swimming pool at... More

Easy walk on paved road. No trouble with the stroller. The waterfall at the end was lovely but hard to swim there with the 14month old and 4yo due to slippery rocks. We swam at the first pool on the right quite successfully. Also fed schools of excitable fish! A wonderful experience for whole family :) highly recommended

We swam here on 7th October 2016. Just loved it. So peaceful and serene. Stayed in the 1 pool for well over an hour watching the beautiful ulysees butterflies and dragon flies. Dragon flies would let you get quite close as well as long as you didn't make any quick movements. Went up to see the rest of the falls... More
