It takes like half an hour to walk from the town to this waterfall. Empty path, you will feel like in the jungle. The only "wild" animals we saw were chicken! hehe. The day was a bit rainy, but still beautiful. I cannot imagine in...More

Thermal baths in the Azores, wonderful place to go and spend the afternoon. You need to pay to get in, but it is not expensive. The short walk to the waterfalls reminded us of Jurassic Park: amazing giant ferns all along the way!

The trail starts in the prettiest of valleys, and it's only a short hike up through pretty woodland on an easy enough path to the first waterfall. Unlike many of the waterfalls we visited on Sao Miguel, this one actually had plenty of water (always...More

This is one of the best hikes you can do in Sao Miguel. There are 2 waterfalls and a nice view during all the path. I would say is of medium difficulty.

Beautiful place. If you like trekking but you have kids this is the perfect spot. It is only 2 km and the view is fantastic

Amazing waterfall, but one hour driving from Ponta Delgada, then walking one hour up, another hour down, with our 4 years old and 9 months old. I don t recommand this place with small children, it is dangerous. Also you have to take good shoes.

Driving to faial da terra, there are signs which show the way to the starting point of the little hike to salto do prego. Getting there, you'll find a small spot where you can park your car, too. The hike to the waterfall took us...More

It was raining on the day we went so the hike was a bit grueling seeing as it pretty much uphill for 45 minutes and very rocky but wow was it ever worth it!! Absolutely stunning and peaceful - not at all touristy. We also...More
