Superb campsite!! Ideal campsite, some stunning views and a lovely well kempt site. Friendly and helpful staff, check in was quick and easy - as was online booking. No specific pitches meant you have a choice where to pitch - plenty of room. Fire pits, composting toilets and good showers. Camping what it should be about!

OMG what a fab place! I've been camping all over the world for just over 50 years and this has to be one of the best sites I've ever visited. Went here just before Easter on a Sunday night and had loads of space to ourselves. Loved the cafe, the spread out nature of the 'site', as well as the... More

Wow, what an amazing campsite! Situated just outside of Stroud/Nailsworth with stunning views across the countryside, this campsite is one of the best we have ever visited (seasoned campers in our VW bus). The staff are amazing and so chilled out. We booked last minute at the weekend as the weather was amazing, the site is so so so pretty.... More

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Fieldfare Café, which has just re-opened after a winter break. All of our food was absolutely delicious, drinks hit the spot after a good walk and the staff are all so friendly. A lovely atmosphere too with great views and a cosy log fire inside. We're very much looking forward to going again.... More

I made my second visit to Thistledown the weekend just gone in order to catch up with a friend and try out my new Tipi and wood stove! When I go camping I want nature, a feeling of the great outdoors and a massive fire! Not commercial style camping with an indoor pool and cabaret club house Thistledown delivers 100%.... More

Had a nice lunch of yummy flatbread, lamb in lettuce, humus and beans on toast. Service is a bit slow and random but food is freshly prepared. Nice rustic furniture with out door seating as well. Lovely views. Pizzas available in the evening cooked in clay oven.

We stayed in pasture 2 with friends at the weekend. It was our 3rd visit and I can honestly say it certainly wont be our last, we have younger children and the fields, woods, friendly relaxed atmosphere always make for an excellent stay. Even rainy weather couldn't dampen our spirits. Highly recomended

We stayed in elderflower Orchard, it was really nice.. The fire pit was a great touch.. It was a little trek to the showers and to the sinks for washing dishes, but that's why it's cheaper I suppose. I would definitely return if we are ever in the area..

Another great stay in 3rd Pasture where we could relax in a beautiful, car-free setting. There are lovely walks in the immediate area and the opportunity to have a campfire was fantastic. We also really appreciated the quality of the food and drink in the cafe and shop. On our departure, we left a bag in the cafe and it... More
