A Must Stop!
Aug 2021
We stopped here during our time exploring the Cabot Trail. The quilts here are absolutely beautiful and intricate! Sandra took the time to walk us through some of the different meanings behind them and the amount of work, time and thought that goes into each individual piece is astonishing! Cape Breton has some amazing local quilters! Beyond the beautiful pieces and other lovely trinkets, Sandra was just lovely overall. We had some lovely conversations with her and she was so, so pleasant! We picked up some fabric quarters and quilting materials (we are total beginners) while there ourselves just for fun as well as some gorgeous smaller quilted pieces. This is a must stop on the trail for sure! Thanks so much Sandra!

Excellent service, and beautiful work in store!
Aug 2021
The shop is lovely and has a wide selection of antiques, knitted goods, jams, and quilts. Sandra showed us the quilts and told us the meaning behind them, along with a run down on quilting basics. We are trying our hand at quilting, thanks to some quarters purchased at the shop. The quilts in store are all incredible and worth taking a look at. Sandra was wonderful and very helpful, and we look forward to seeing her in the future, hopefully with a quilt worth showing.

Half Decent

There are a decent selection of items. We bought a couple of things. If you’re in the market for a quilt, especially a Cape Breton themed one, this is your stop. Friendly customer service.

Breton Treasures and Trinkets is a cute little shop whose owner couldn't be friendlier or more knowledgeable! There is a room dedicated to amazing handmade quilts and another section with vintage China, hand-knit clothing, jewellery and more!

Quilts!
Sep 2015 • Couples
The proprietress of this little shop has information on the local quilters that you won't want to miss. There are plenty of other "treasures and trinkets" in the shop but the quilts are the highlight: hand-stitched by locals.

Don't miss the gorgeous quilts!
Sep 2013 • Solo
This little shop has a whole room full of beautiful Cape Breton quilts. It also features the owner's own knitted goods, and the work of other local artisans. There are books and CDs by celebrated local authors and musicians, as well as things like antique china and glassware that the owner has collected here and there. There were even some local preserves when I stopped in. The variety in the shop is a nice little diversion, as was chatting with Sandra, the owner.

When travelling the Cabot Trail make sure you stop off at this gift shop. It has something for everyone. The gifts include local produce, special presents for special occasions and just things to treat yourself with, and the owner is lovely!
