You can no longer "turn left onto the dirt track after the bridge" as described in the LP guidebook but you can go a little further on highway 1 and make a U turn (!!) to get back to the dirt track. There is a voluntary donation to cross the land (we gave colones 1,000 based on previous parking experience)... More

We booked the Combo Tour with Alex on the Beach that included this waterfall. The waterfall was beautiful and refreshing on a hot, humid day. I would definitely recommend this "up close and personal" experience with a Costa Rican waterfall!

Beautiful location for a quick dip with gorgeous waterfalls. Family place with facilities and vendors. You will be asked for a donation at the entrance, a donation for parking security, and a donation to use the rest rooms. Food, drink and souvenirs available too. Walk down to falls is about 4 minutes.

stopped here on our way to the airport and so glad we did. the waterfall and surrounding area was beautiful. very short/easy walk down some stairs to the pool. there were howler monkeys sleeping in the trees above us which was a nice surprise! a few things to note... if you drive on your own there is "security" in the... Best of both worlds! A sandy beach, with an exotic water fall. How could you ever complain... its perfect! I highly recommend for families with small children. Get there super early or later in the evening to avoid the crowds. Make sure and tip the parking guys at the top. Have fun!

Very secluded area. Sandy beach and beautiful falls. Our teenagers loved climbing the rocks behind the waterfall and getting great pictures. We went early, on a weekday and had no problems with over crowding. There are larger waterfalls in Costa Rica but this one was not nearly as far as those were.

Catatana Llanos de Cortes waterfall is absolutely beautiful! Signage not great and infrastructure around the falls could be better, but this is part of the appeal. You are expected to give a donation at the gate and at parking (tho not sure who it benefits!) but the locals keep an eye on your vehicle....a small price to pay to experience... More

The falls are nice but not amazing. This was second of two destinations on our day trip so this was a disappointment. The falls are not that large but it is in a wild area. The were locals there along with our bus full of tourists and then another bus later arrived. A set of male female toilets for $1... More

This waterfall was stunning! I went suring Semana Santa so it was crowded but with a small donation and parking fee its worth the steep trek down to the falls because its like a little piece of paradise! You can swim under the falls or climb behind it. You can make a day of it or an hour if you... More
