We did all the activities in one day. They were all very fun and informative. The staff was really engaged and helpful. This was a great way to spend our day. We saw SOOO many crocodiles and their newly hatched babies. It was also very well kept and easy to get to from the Coco area.

This is a must see! What a beautiful lodge and lunch experience after river boating along the hundreds of crocodiles! Seeing them up close and personal with eh white faced monkeys and birds, birds, birds! This was a very easy tour and excursion with maximum impact!

We recently took the boat tour on the Tempisque River. There were four of us in our group and we were lucky enough to have our own boat. Our guides (one guide and one guide-in-training) were animated and knowledgeable. Our boat captain was amazing at spotting birds and other creatures. With temperatures in the low 90s, we appreciated the cooling breezes of the river. The lunch that we were served was delicious and quite filling. I highly recommend this tour.

We booked the three part tour through Samara Adventure company. I did not think I booked a private tour, but that's what we ended up with.
Once arriving we started with a boat tour down river.  I honestly didn't think we'd see much, being the dry season and hot. Yet the skilled guide pointed out many. Birds, lizards, crocodiles, coati, white face monkey, howler monkey, bats. The guide sharing information on each. He also took us to the marsh/wetland area where there were 1000s of birds resting.
Next on the tour was a short history lesson on the sugar cane. A new guide, she gave us a tour of how a traditional farm ran in the past. We made our own tortilla and coffee and sat for a brief snack with cheese and cornbread.
The final tour was the rum experience. A 3rd guide walked us through the history and process of making rum. I love this kind of information and enjoyed learning some new facts. As a rum drinker, this is not your sweetened, mixing rum. This is a potent sipping ron my whiskey straight drinking husband loves. Of course we purchased a bottle of our own blend to take home.
The last stop was back at the main building where we were served a traditional Costa Rican lunch plate.
In all the day lasted about 4.5h without transportation. I'm sure if we were a larger group it would have been longer. it was a fun activity and I'd recommend to anyone.

Must see experience in Guanacaste. We opted for the Cultural Tour, Tempisque River Safari Tour, and Rum Tasking Experience. The day started at 11:00 with coffee and snacks. We then had the Cultural Tour that highlighted sugarcane harvesting and processing as well as tortilla making and sugarcane snacks. The buffet lunch was great as well. Then we took the river tour with tons of wildlife: howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, bats, crocodiles and dozens of birds. After the boat tour, we were shown the wetlands, which were breathtakingly beautiful—do not miss the wetlands. Finally, the rum experience and tasting. Can’t recommend the tours enough. The guides were great and very knowledgeable. We opted for the private tour, which was great and gave us plenty of time on the river to get the pictures we wanted.

Great trip on the Tempisque river. The boat captain and guide were both on the lookout for wildlife and the variety of birds, crocodiles and other wildlife is amazing. Lunch was delicious and the cultural tour afforded the opportunity to make sugar cane syrup, tortillas and enjoy a cup of coffee. Highly recommended.

We went for the rum tour with lunch. We were greeted by name when we arrived and found all of the staff interactions to be very professional. The historic plantation is stunning and it was very nice to have a bit of time apart from the tour, to enjoy the grounds and building. The rum tour was informative. While the rum is a newer rum, they have created a lovely environment to learn about the rum and if you wish, you can infuse your own bottle of rum to take home with you (at an additional cost). After our tour we enjoyed a wonderful tico lunch. The food and service were excellent.

If you are interested in wildlife this attraction is well worth a visit. You will see an abundance of birds, crocodile, monkeys, iguanas, coati and more. We did the River and Wetland tour with lunch. The guides were very experienced and we saw many new species-to us. The lunch, quality, selection and service were excellent. Better than I expected for a tour package. We also saw a traditional poorly demonstration that was well done and very interest and engaging.

We booked ahead and traveled their under our own steam. First we had the cultural tour which was entertaining and informative, we were then whisked through the sugar cane fields for our river trip where the vistas and wildlife exceeded our expectations, the guide had good knowledge of the birds and animals we saw and was able to identify them in English for us. We were then treated to a drive round a marshy area where we saw more birds including the jabiru stork and rose spoonbills. The lunch that followed was excellent. The day was finished off with a demonstration of the old rum making process and a tasting. All in all excellent value for money and a day that created lots of memories.
