It only takes 30 minutes or so to get round but it is 30 minutes worth taking, particularly if you link it with visits to the early churches nearby and the Maritime Museum.

This is the perfect setting for a historical novel or a romance. The fort, almost perfectly maintained stands by the sea, a sentinel through the centuries. The museum inside is a must visit, it has large panels of text and if you have the time...More

Nice historical fort bang on the sea-side where one can spend 30 minutes to an hour. Steeped in colonial history.

Enjoyed wandering around and learning more about the fascinating history linking Denmark and India. There are some interesting artefacts and the written information gives lots of details about the past of these two countries,

Dutch Fort, one of the good heritage structure to visit in Tranquebar. Kids will have lot of take away memories from museum. Well maintained lawn inside the fort gives a fresh feel to the whole development.

It's small and nothing much to see. No history mentioned and museum inside is worthless. It has been recently painted pink, so it does not look like it is a 400 year old fort. It is a disappointment to call it a fort.
