It was a case of passing the hat when we got to the waterfall path. We made a donation but the path to the falls is off due to upkeep and presumable a collapse somewhere. Suspect this is an ongoing situation since English reviews stopped in 2015 here. You can go for a walk in the beech forest and hike... More

Amnon was a quiet walk beside the river Most people had regular shoes , my son used running shoes and I used hiking boots Anmon has 3 large Falls , the first is an easy walk , next ones are a steep climb but mostly stairs.It is free but there is a 300 yen donation for trail maintenance. This is a UNESCO heritage site. Come prepared to trek as it takes about an hour one way till the first falls. The area has facilities such as parking spaces, restaurants, a tourist information center and a toilet, but there are no toilets along the trekking route. The trek path does have its difficult sections.
