This is a fascinating place in that the falls are fed from a spring with hot water. The temperature is a comfortable warmth. People are free to wander up the falls and many swim in the different water holes that are along the stream.

from that waterfall you can do the hike to mount Io or follow the coastline. Very hot at noon in summer. best early morning or afternoon. Make sure you try the natural hot springs above the waterfall. Most people do miss it as you have...More

Interesting waterfall with warm mountain water temperature even in cold times. Natural onsen somewhere is pumping big volumes of volcanic water into mountain river thus the nice warm, say 20 C temperature. You can walk the fall some hundred meters up and then you are...More

These are relatively flat and shallow falls which visitors can walk in. The water is lukewarm, no doubt from a nearby hotspring. The route there is quite long (11km one way) on gravel roads, somewhat long for a single attraction.

After one hundred hot onsens all around, this is good to go, walk on the rocks (not so much danger if you take care) and then swim in the little places which are warm but of course less hot than the onsen.

Watch out, it's slippery, although incredibly, many young folks were traipsing up in flip flops, crocs, bare feet! There are several sections to the waterfall – you drive right up to the base, park your car, climb up a steep small slope, strip your boots...More
