I use the Amagiso at the Kawazu bus stop at the base of the Kawazu Nanadaru Loop Bridge as my point to visit these falls because there is parking if I drive and the best waterfall, the Odaru falls, is located here. Autumn is a wonderful time to visit because the maples are turning colours. There are quite a bit of steps along the way and this is a good half-day activity if you walk up the trail past the seven falls and then walk back. You can also cut any backtracking out by using the bus as there are bus stops at both the beginning and the end of the waterfall trail. The waterfalls display fine geologic strata of volcanic rock that has hardened in roughly right angles as it hit the river. Visited 17 November 2018.

We visited the place during the golden week holidays, it wasn’t much crowded, though thankfully. We started from the Mizutare bus stop and walked our way down. The steps are steep at some points but nothing too difficult. The complete hike takes about 2 hours depending on how long you stay at each waterfall. If using public transport, make sure to carry along the bus timetables because bus frequency is less. Waiting time may be at least half an hour if you miss one. We returned to Kawazu station by bus from the bus stop near the last waterfall. Eating places and restrooms are available at both ends. We ended up eating at a rustic hilltop small restaurant. The owner speaks English and can provide vegetarian dishes on request.

Went to this area mainly for the loop bridge to see the sakura but passed by the seven waterfalls so visited as well. I think not worth the bus ride if you come only for the waterfalls but if you go for the sakura at the loopbridge then visit.

The walk from Mizutare B/S is downhill but steps can be considered high for people with knee problems. The view is well worth the effort.

a good 1~2 hour walk (to and return) (with quite a bit of stairs here and there, but mostly easy walks), shaded. Most of the falls are small, with 2 larger falls. Tranquil environment, especially nice during red leaves season. Carpark, restaurants and bathrooms at each end available. You can also take the bus from each end to the train station.

The walk to the seven falls is best done from the top down, north to south. The local bus is easy to get from the Kawazu station. The rock formations and vegetation of the area is amazing.

This was the highlight of my day. The walk is very easy, some small stairs here and there but overall a very comfortable and non-strenuous walk. The walls are very well signposted and just beautiful. It took us just under 90min to do all seven falls, with lots of stops for photos. Do not miss this, it is a gem in the Izu crown.

We visited the waterfalls in the afternoon and still made the trip to the last fall and back within 90 minutes. Part of the path is flat, but there are quite some stairs to be negotiated.
Scenery is beautiful and platforms offer good views of the falls. Certainly worth a visit.

The waterfalls are pretty, but not spectacular, and offer a welcome respite from summer heat as the river cools the air.
Getting there by public transport:
- Bus from Kawazu station (1-2 per hour), Y600 each way
- Taxi Y3500 from Kawazu station. Mr Inaba of Kyoei Taxis was very proud of the area and give an interesting tour guide en route (Japanese only)
The nanadaru is a series of seven cataracts varying from 2m to 30m drops. There is a well prepared walkway including a couple of suspension bridges and signposts detailing the views, geology and fauna near each waterfall. There are also some statues of film stars of a film made in the forest. We took a taxi and caught the bus back (the price difference to the bus for family of 4 is minimal) and started at the top and walked down. If you catch the bus you will start at waterfall 2 and walk up and down the valley.
This makes a nice visit and a welcome change from onsen and beaches if you are in Kawazu.

If you go by bus, you can avoid retracing your route as there is a bus stop on both ends of the seven falls. The information of the falls are good but not the same at each falls. A couple of the falls will be a bit taxing for the elderly. All in all worth spending 2 hours.

You can ask your hotel to help you forward your luggage to your next hotel by delivery service. Many Japanese do this. I don't know the details as I have never done it before.
