Loved Nachisan area. It surprised me how beautiful it was. It's still a little off-beat to most international tourists, which makes it easier to enjoy than others famous temples. The waterfall is amazing. Also visit the Pagoda to take a picture of it with the...More

A very impressive old shrine dating back to the 16 century. Surrounded by more modern shrines and religious buildings . Going up 400 stairs. One of two most important shrines to the Shinto. Part of Kumano trails declared UNESCO World Heritage.

Nachi Taisha is the biggest and deserves spending longer hours than the other 2 grand shrines (in Hongu and Shingu) on the sacred World Heritage Kumano Kodo trail. Not a single temple, it's located in a hilly complex together with the famous Nachi waterfalls and...More

Not disappointed here. Wonderful architecture. Very clean site. However if you walk or drive up to the Nachi Kogen Park, beautiful. And the big slide is a must! Lots to do here, but closes early so beware. The waterfall and pagoda are fantastic photo opportunity,...More

This shrine is one of the major stops on the pilgrimage route through the Kii peninsula. The waterfall is breathtaking, and the energy is very spiritual. There are a few shrines to see, as well as a three tiered pagoda. I recommend feeding the koi...More

I agree with the previous comments. There is a very good JR forum. I suggest you pose a question on that too for any further information.
