This is the most amazing place I have ever been to. It appears so simple but it makes you so aware of yourself and the world around you. The logical mind cannot comprehend how this can be such an amazing experience and that might be part of the charm. White concrete space, curves and flat surfaces and drops of water... More

It was an amazing feeling when I entered the building . I can feel energy approaches towards me. It feels like I'm in a space of tranquillity. Even in a small voice or move it will echoes the whole place .

If you are in the area, you should visit Teshima Art Museum. Though it's not really a museum and more of a single structure, the space presents many objects and movements to contemplate. Beads of water, balls, and streamers all move according to the wind, the shape of the floor, and (usually accidental) human contact. My friend and I unknowingly... More

We visited Setouchi trienniale, making Teshima our stop for the day. This small but highly individualised art museum is absolutely a must if in the area. It is a place where one needs to sit and watch and relax and marvel. The concept is so clever and well constructed. Highly recommended.

Teshima art Museum is a must go museum in Japan! The art work itself is the building of the museum. Water is the inspiration of Teshima art museum, the shape of the building looks like a water drop and there's some water drops coming out of the floor! I lie on the floor and look up to the sky, it's... More

We visited the Teshima Art Museum as part of the 2016 Setouchi Trienniale. The museum appeared as a white orb in the landscape. We entered the space and were overwhelmed by the serene and contemplative quality of the space. This is a must see for those who appreciate minimalist architecture, form and art.

The dome-like art museum can be found uphill in Teshima Island. We rented a bicycle unfortunately it wasn't electric powered. There were a number of people since it was time for Setouchi Art Festival; and so bicycles are in demand. We pushed our bikes uphill since it was tough to pedal. LOL. You should rent or book in advance an... More

First I rate this a 5 must see and experience! For what it is it is the best in the world. Now then it is a space with neither art or a museum so for that I rate a 4. This space is unlike any other you will ever experience. It is simplicity and silence. The art is the space... More

I initially thought it was just a large structure but had my mind blown when you enter the space. pictures don't do justice (you are not allowed to take photos but even if you sneak some) an amazing sensory experience of peace & stillness worthwhile to try and go during off peak seasons

The water gathers then runs across the surface like snakes or caterpillars on speed- and the whole chamber resonates with the sound of water and birds. Ethereal
