Made a stop here on our way back from Kagura-matsuri in Yamato-cho. We didn't know when the water was released so there's nothing much to see, but the scenery here is beautiful.

It is an aqueduct still functional after 160 years. Must see when they discharge water. Currently discharge scheduled 1:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays but it might change. It is a technically amazing and beautiful bridge.

When there is no water out of the bridge it's just a normal bridge and nothing to see. However there is a fall nearby which is ok

If you're heading away from Kumamoto city in the direction of Miyazaki Prefecture you probably cross Yamato-cho at some point. The bridge is not located aside of the mainroad 445/218, but close enough and traffic signs will point you in the right direction. Every Saturday, Sunday at noon water from the bridge can be seen.
