A nice place to walk around but it's not super impressive nor picturesque. Boat rowing is not guaranteed as it's subject to weather conditions. We didn't get a chance due to high tide. Taroko Gorge in Hualien, Taiwan is more impressive. Worth a visit but...More

Takachiho Gorge is a beautiful place to see while visiting Takachiho! The formation of the Gorge is a sight to behold due to the rock formation and design. Not to mention the waterfalls surrounding it. There is also plenty of trails along the Gorge to...More

The nature in this famous gorge is very beautiful. However, as it is a very popular attraction, it can get very crowded. You can row a boat in the gorge, which is very popular, so when we visited all we could see was rowing boats...More

The gorge is beautiful. However, not easy to reach by public transportation, and not sure it's worth the hassle. Bpat ride is short, and the queue is LONG. If you get there early, you'll still have to wait at least 30 min. The later you...More

There is no bus service to there in week days. However, it took me about 5 minutes of walking to there under the google map direction. Although it is not so attractive for me, it does still worth going because it was very famous in...More

I lucked out with the weather when I was there, as it poured with rain as I walked through the gorge. The steep sides, waterfalls, and fantastic shapes the rocks make all combine to create an almost surreal landscape that makes for excellent photos.

I don't believe you can make it. Too far from Tokyo and it is not worthwhile to make such a day trip from Tokyo. Drop this idea.
