A great display of NZ houses through out its history. We had a great time wandering around looking at NZs architecture that has been set out like a village. Take a packed lunch and make a day if it.

I love these types of places where you take a step back in time. Great work so far and room for more. Kids enjoyed the little train ride. The sheep loved being fed too.

Very interesting collection of historical buildings. With a great little railway. Lots of interesting memorabillia. This museum is run by the local community and have to be congratulated on there efforts to preserve such buildings. Well worth a visit.

An interesting collection of early housing and business life. A credit to a small local community. Brought back many memories as well as insightful of how our early ancestors lived

Wonderful place to visit and spend time wandering around the village, picnic on the lawn and riding the train. Highly recommend.

Very little looks like it's been done professionally as a lot of it has been donated by primary school kids (faces drawn on plastic plates etc) It would be acceptable if it was free but there's far better attractions in Taranaki.

Most of the buildings here are well restored & faithful versions of how people lived not that long ago. The lady at the counter was very helpful. and we managed to fit into the little train and have a ride around the village twice ....More

We weren't intending to stop here, thinking it wouldn't be 'our kind of thing', but the café seemed to be the only place open on a bank holiday. The toasted sandwiches were fabulous, but it also gave us time to stick our noses over the...More
